OK... i've just installed mod_dav

My httpd.conf has

<Location /dav/>
DAV On
AuthType Basic
AuthName "WebDAV Restricted"
AuthUserFile /home/virtualhost3/dav/.DAVlogin
<LimitExcept GET HEAD OPTIONS>
Require user webdav
</LimitExcept>
</Location>

I've created a password file (.DAVlogin) for the user webdav. The dav directory has grp www and 775 permisions. Apache's been stopped and restarted.

Under XP, when I add a new network place and offer "http://www.virtualhost3/dav", UID webdav and the password don't let me in.

I feel like I can't see the wood for the trees here. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Your first point of call is the Apache error_log, what does it say in there?
