Really need some help here.

Just fitted a front entry TD05-16H over the weekend and dumped my VF28. It developed a funny noise coming from the front right of the car, from driver point of view.

It only happens when car is in motion, once passed the 4500rpm mark, whether with 0.7bar or 1.0 bar boost, a very high gushing sound coming from the front right of the car.

Initially, thought it was from leaking flanges at the TC and had it checked thoroughly but all bolts were tight.

I'm running a Sti panel air filter with a cold air duct in the RHS wheel arch. My 1st pass assumption may be that of the suction caused by the big flowing TD05 across the Sti panel air filter.:0

Anybody running this kind of setup and has had this noise when the TC go on song?

The TD05 is not a very quiet turbo - I guess it's just the noise of it sucking through the inlet path, or that of the wastegate bypassing :)

Maybe a split in the pipe from turbo to I/Cooler ? It would help identify a leak if you can monitor air flow or AFR ratio.

Checked through my STi V IC hoses => Ok. My STi V IC runs with a Y-hard pipe inlet...so only checked the right elbow hose outlet of the turbo.

btw, must i run a open pod filter to compliment the TD05? Will my current panel filter+cold air duct creates too much preesure drop that some how has limit the air flow to the turbocharger?
