I've just had a PPP fitted to my STI8 and it now has the round Prodrive backbox.

Is there any difference (ie soundwise) between the round Prodrive exhaust I currently have fitted and the oval Prodrive WRSport exhaust (part number SACC2147 on the subaru website).

BTTT - someone must have had the round one and the oval one.

Both exhausts are exactly the same apart from the tailpipe design.

when you say the same, do you mean the same in terms of loudness

I'm not interested in how free flowing it is, or how much power it adds etc, but just want to know about the sound

thanks

it's the same pipework and silencer except that one has a round exit pipe and one has an oval one :) - performance / sound should be the same in the real world (unless you want to get into CFD calculations ;))

just to add another bit - I think the PPP swaps out the centre cat for a decat pipe so that will alter the sound to be louder so unless you compare the back boxes like for like (same pipework before it etc)...

The reason i asked this is that a sales rep reconed the px sti7 they had, had the oval sports exhaust and it was louder. Now i know you should never take a sales persons word for sure, so i thought id ask. I would like to put something louder but can risk the 3yr warranty.

Had both on my sti 7 as Rob D said same b/box even no,s on each box is the same only difference is tailpipe both sounded the same to my ear

They are both the same, official answer from prodrive today, the sale rep was wrong-what a surprise!
