if I change the ip address on an exchange 5.5 server it has problems restarting services IIRC ??
what do I need to do ??

it's just the change of hostname that kills it then, I honestly can't remember & not just IP change?? & havn't got time to look.

just remembered, you can change both...it's just if hostname changed then ensure WINS & DNS updated or it dies obviously.
bit slow today.....

sounds right.. may need to toombstone the record in wins.. remember to update any routes and mx records that may need changing..

no mate, we don't support this server, had a dig around & it's only pop3 gsm to blackberry's using "pop beamer" as the software:rolleyes:
no site connectors etc etc...I should have looked first before asking silly questions mate:D
all done & dusted now, only ims failed to start, just needed another re-boot;)
