In Excel...
I have column A containing many comments which users may wish to see.

Column A is also frozen to be viewable at all times.

If the user has scrolled across the sheet and columns B and C are not visible the comments are not visible when hovering the mouse over the cell. How can I ensure that the comments remain visible to the 'mouse hover'. They seem to be related to both 'ToolTips' and 'ScreenTips' in MS jargon & helpfiles...

Also where Excel starts a comment box text with the username - is it possible to change the default font from bold black?

Thanks

Mick

This seems to be a known issue because the comment is a sheet object and thus does not get displayed when "off" screen. Only way that seemed to be possible to show the comment is by inserting a blank column B and setting freeze panes on that so there is enough room for the comment to show when hovering over A.

Not sure about the font.

You can change the font, but it changes for the entire comment, not just the title/name, and changing it will change all "Tooltips" anywhere else in Windows.

If you want to change it, go to Control Panel > Display > Appearance and change the values for Tooltips

So... Not much to be done then.

Thanks for your responses anyway guys :)

Cheers
