Thanks but need more help guys-

Whats the most cost effective processor/mem/mboard combo and what's the hottest budget video card available these days?

Sick of my slow computer- it's time for an upgrade. Hopefully some PC guru who knows what's hot and what's not currently will be able to reccommend an upgrade path for me.

Current spec:overworked P3 600 slot 1 overbussed to 840mhz(ish),512MB PC133 ram and an old NVIDIA MX with 32mb ram.

I deffo want to go the AMD route so save money so what CPU/Mboard combo can anyone reccomend, also what is the best BUDGET video card available to day chipset wise? Does anyone know of a good manufacturer card (Asustek always did overclockable cards back in my day) with overclocking potential?

All answers gratefully received as I am out of touch with the scene these days due to my retirement! (from IT)

edited to add: I want the best bang/buck ratio possible from this kit so no high end stuff for me I'm afraid.
