I bought a full set of Goodyear 3's about 3K miles ago....
One of the rears now has a nail in it and is losing about 5 psi a week...... Only a matter of time here ! - (I didn't find the nail till tonight...) What's the view on replacing that ONE only ? Also, anyone in the Chester area know where I can get one quick, at lunch time, at short notice ??? Cheers, Mark |
Is it not repairable?
Where in the tyre is the nail? |
About an inch from the outer tyre wall....
Not sure about repair - OK at speed ? PS _ Thanks for the prompt reply ! |
I think an inch from the outer wall is repairable and should be repaired/guaranteed. I even had a puncture on the corner of the tread/sidewall on a Golf GTi tyre, the tyre place could not repair it but sent it away to a BS approved repairer and it came back a week later OK. Obviously no good if you have to run on a spacesaver all week.

But cheaper than buying 2 new tyres:)
How did you get on? |
Cheers for the advice - I actually replaced 2.... The puncture was two separate nails on opposite tyre walls, so no repair as an option -
Never mind - as the tyres are all thats between the road and me - best be sure I guess... Thanks, Mark |
