I'm not planning on keeping the car I have for more than a month and therefore don't want to pay for a full years insurance.
Does anyone know of anywhere I can get an insurance policy for around a month? Any help will be appreciated. |
I've just got off the phone with an insurance broker who was after my business for two motors. One of them is less than a month into its insurance with a rival and they suggested that as I'm paying monthly by direct debit I should cancel the dd and go with them.

Be careful if you've done the insurance in instalments as they usually fund it via a credit agreement and if you cancel you can still be liable for the remaining 'credit'

Scoobyvirgin, if you have another insurance policy on another vehicle, you will be able to add the said vehicle to this policy on a temporary basis. If not the shortest policy you can do is three months, I doubt you find a Direct Writer will do this but an insurance company through a broker will.
Try Swinton, Hill House Hammond or the AA, you can find their numbers in this link clicky simb |
Coombmr, be careful when another broker is after your business. I bet they hav'nt told you to check with your existing broker, regards the high cancellation charges you will most likley incur by cancelling their policy.
When you paying by a Credit Agreement, you are not paying for the insurance a month at a time, you should treat this as a loan, The insurance company has paid the premium for you and you are paying them back. If the policy is cancelled, they will still work out what is owed to you or owed to them by their scale of charges. Check with them 1st simb |
