this is a weird one - I'm running XP with office XP pro and find that when MS Excel is running the first click you make with the mouse stays clicked - resulting in multiple cells being selected when you move the mouse. Its basically as if I'm holding down the left mouse button (which I'm not).

Does that make sense?

The mouse is on com1(and also tried com2) and have the latest MD serial drivers loaded (mouse is a MS Home Serial)

Happens each and every time.

Any ideas? All other apps work fine with the mouse (Word, Outlook etc) and Excel works fine with a USB mouse. Obviously running latest virus defs and all free - so I stumped.

Not much on Tecnet on this..

Anyone any ideas apart from binning the serial mouse for the USB one?

Thanks

Neil

I've seen this before but it was with Lotus 1-2-3 and not Excel, problem was with the display driver - there was a bug and it wasn't refreshing properly.

Try looking for an updated display driver

Cheers

Paul
