Not trying to make anyone jealous or anything but I had a tour of Prodrive last week. Saw all sections of the factory which included design, engine, gearbox, customer cars ie allstars, machine shop, touring cars, bodyshop ending with a talk in the WRC workshop where Burns and Kankkunen,s cars had just returned from Catulunya. Although some items were covered it was a very open and informative day which I would recommend
to anyone.

Cheers

Chip.

Chip Presumably you arranged this through your Subaru dealer?

I went on the same tour about three weeks ago. My girlfriend arranged it with Prodrive directly. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone interested in motorsport in general (especially if you're a scooby nut). A highly informative and open tour.

Chip,

I went a couple of years back and loved it. Just how much do you want to work there? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

In the garage prep bit at the end they had a brand new works spec car that was due to be shipped to Belgium, (Robert Droogmans I think), just sitting there in white, tarmac spec, ready to go.
After chatting with the mechanic, (dude), he said "Why don't you sit in and start her up?" Whoooooooooooooooooooo http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/redface.gif
I wanted that car so much i could have wept. If it had fitted underneath my jumper I would have nicked it.

Can't recommend the trip enough folks.

Blubs,

The car probably would have fitted under your jumper http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

I have got a tour organised for the West Midlands members.

It has not been advertised because it was over subscribed.

If anybody wants contact names etc then give me a shout on E Mail.

I have been in contact with the guys at Prodrive, they have informed me, they only do 1 tour a month maximum of their premises, as any more could cause severe delays to the cars being prepared for events, and also causes a lot of disruption. All of the scheduled tours for the forseeable future have been solidly booked, and they do not have the capacity to allow more.

They have been inundated with calls and emails from people, and appreciate the interest you all have, but unfortunately they cannot take any more tours on. They will keep in touch and let us know if any come up, but cannot promise anything at the moment.
