Help needed please on GTA Vice City:

1) Having just aquired Diaz's mansion, how do I smash all the windows in the shopping mall in just 5 minutes? It takes me a minute to get there and there's just too many of them (do I break them with a bat or shoot them out?). Tried and failed this mission about a dozen times now, and starting to get the hump.

2) How can I actually tell how far I am through the game? People talk about being 48% or 71% through, but how do I tell this?

You need a fast car to get to the mall and then have a couple of goes and work out a good route and just go for it, getting out of the mall is even more fun you can sit there picking off security guards until your star ratings are on max and then go outside and see what the police have in store for you:D, great fun.


Your percentage is in the options i havent played for ages but i think you stats come up straight away and watch it scroll through and amongst all the stats the percentage completed pops up.

Use a bike to get there quickl. Shoot them out. If you get a decent semi-automatic beforehand its quite easy. Sprint between the windows.

I got a fast bike, drove it into the mall, and did a drive-by on them all with a nice Uzi :)

I found it much easier on the scrambling bike. With a bit of practice you can make it up the escalators. Best off doing over the downstairs first using drive-bys on the bike with an uzi (Remeber you can shoot forwards when driving the bike). Then try and get up the stairs/escalator. If you fall off you should still have plenty of time to just get up, run around on foot and destroy the remaining windows.

Thanks guys - will try and complete that over the next few days!

I used the chopper from out side the back of the mansion to get to the mall. Then use a sword or something like that to smash the windows.
Job done.

fast car to the mall (lambo outside) - on the approach to the mall a motorbike always passes, going in the opposite direction. steal this (ram the fecker with the car and hop on), then as above (i.e. uzi from the bike, following the spots on the map where the windows are)

I found this level suprisingly easy, just jumped straight into the Lambo thing outside the mansion, drove to the mall, got out and used the machete / samuri sword jobbie, takes 2 hits per window and the window breaks, do the downstairs ones first....

Same as some of the others on here......lambo to the mall and then nicked a bike and crashed the windows with an uzi! :D

My mate had the same problem with this level...I ended up having to do it for him as he just couldn't do it in time!

I have noticed that with a couple of games, one person does the particular level first time and other people find it impossible and take forever!!

I have pretty much completed the game (the missions part) but I cannot do the mission when you are the sniper on the roof and you have to shoot one set of gang memebers while they are getting attacked.....my mate did it first time!!!

I've completed all the missions, but it is now boring for the other stuff. I have found 98 packages, done all the holdups in the shops and have about 2 rampages left and still only 77% complete.

98 hidden packages!!!!

I am up to about 65 and I can't find anymore anywhere!!!!

Lol I have a walkthrough to see where all the hidden packages are cos I was so bored of looking. Still cant find half of them even with help. Have given up on Vice City now as once the missions are done its boring.

Moved on to Eternal Darkness on the Cube which is pretty good - bit Tomb Raider like.

Without the walkthrough, you'll never find all the packages. Even with the walkthrough, some of the descriptions are pretty vague, hence the reason I have a couple left to find. With 100 packages the Hunter helicopter is available, and the onlt thing this will help you do is complete the vigilante missions.

You get the Hunter for completing all the missions. Well thats how I think I got it. I got to level 33 or something on the hunter vigilante missions then crashed into a building - gutted.
