I'd go for the CDA 9813 or 9815, these are the top of the range jobbies with extra features such as Ipersonalise which lets you use Alpines site to setup your headunit according to your setup then copy it to CDR and bung it in the headunit and volia.
Cheers Daz Forgot to add difference is New unit versus old unit and above. [Edited by Daz WRX - 6/3/2003 7:54:54 AM] |
Hi,
As the title suggest I'm looking to spend about £300 on a headunit. I originally wanted to stick to Alpine but I've heard good things about JVC, what are everyone else’s opinions on JVC Vs Alpine? I'm not too interested in how flash it looks, I'm after a single CD headunit preferably with MP3 plackback. I also either need to to have a line in (or option for a modular line in like Alpine) for the Mstation I have (sick of the FM modulator!). Currently I’m thinking about these 2 Alpine units: CDA-7894 CDA-9813 See click Anyone know what the difference is between these 2 BTW? Also had a quick look at a couple of JVC units: KD-SH99RB KD-SH9101 click I’ll be amazed if these links come out clicky.. sorry if I messed it up! What do you guys think? Cheers Chris |

What about a digital radio? My Blaupunkt DAB52 is pretty good
|
Hmm, I've never really thought about digital, I don't really know much about it. Is the quality that much better?
I don't see it as something that’s essential at the moment, but I'm sure Alpine do an add on box that'll fit when it becomes more mainstream. Cheers for your advice guys, I'm thinking of going for the 9813 like the Daz and Daz suggested! (is the only difference between 9813 and 9815 that 9815 comes with a matrix display?) Cheers Chris |

I've not heard one, but apparently they're good, and I'd pretty much buy one on looks anyway:
Pioneer DEH-P77MP (about halfway down) Steve. |
Interesting you say that Steve - I have just bought a DEHP77MP, and looks were a major factor, because I was after simplicity and style, as well as good features and sound. Not fitted it yet but will do soon...
