Hey has anyone heared any problems about blitz filters for scoobys.
I bought one a while back but have heard mixed opinions about them some have not stuck it on yet. Anyone know if they sound any good?

M0NEY 31 May 2003 07:30 PM

Yeah ive heard mixed opinions on them to.

I have one on MY95 wrx and dont have any problems. noise is nice to

Rant on.......
As a filter it is IMHO about as much use as a cheese grater if you had seen the contamination on my maf sensor after using one you would think again......Probably went a long way in killing my old scoobs engine.

Use a standard or uprated paper filter to be safe
Rant off!

Fire suit on :(

It was the MAF sensor that killed your engine not the filter, the MAF sensor goes belly up on alot of standard cars you know..

Hi Dan

Your right of course :)

So what killed my MAF Sensor?, it was fine before I fitted the Blitz induction kit "filter".

Good for keeping pebbles out but thats about it IMHO.

I have BLITZ SUS filter for over 2 yers now on MY00, i didnt face any problem with it, and i live in dusty wather in kuwait, nice power gain

Scoobycar60, the MAF sensor can go anytime. A blokes scoob was badly running round here. He didnt do anything to the car but the MAF sensor had gone.

Its just one of those things :(

EEEK!
My engine/turbo blew up big style because of a faulty MAF IMO
However took the opportunity to fit HKS FMIC while doing refit

this req'd fitting of Induction kit,to clear pipework.

Blitz LM was the one fitted. (K+N filter too long).

It appears this kit can rattle about somewhat. So have tie wrapped to I/C pipework to hopefully stopping MAF shaking itself to bits

Best filter you can buy,but i dont have trouble with maf as i run on motec.

highlander68k 02 June 2003 01:56 PM

I hear people moan about all the aftermarket filters!

e.g.

"After using the ITG Green filter, my pipework and sensor was covered in green gunk"
"The Blitz SUS filter rattled my sensor to death"
"After fitting the K&N filter, my car blew up two weeks later"

You'll always get different opinions. But I was told to keep away from anything that is oil impregnated, so I went with the Blitz (and that was nearly two years ago) and the sensor is cleaner than it ever has been, with no problems yet.

Obviously something that is on the way out already, won't be helped by an aftermarket bolt-on.
