hi, can anyone tell me their opinion on the price of a scoob i am 95% sure i want to buy. It is a 96P 52k scoob with prodrive performance pack.£13,995 i am going tomorrow to test it, it looked A1 condition.It is worth a haggle (dont you think? I was considering a wrx (mvi services) but i think a uk would be better insurance wise too? opinions appreciated!!cheers!

Sounds a bit steep to me. My friend has just bought a 97 M reg Scoob with full Recaro leather, in mint condition, for £12,000.
Considering you can buy a BRAND NEW car from Holland for £15k, it jst seems high, even with the PPP.
It's obviously your money, and fair play to the guy if he gets that for it, but my advice would be to haggle down to £12,500ish and if not buy a brand new one! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

stef.the reason i need to buy from a garage is mainly due to finance.I am self employed and a loan is proving virtually impossible. I do intend to haggle (violently if necessary) We shall see!

I am also self-employed. I spoke to my bank manager & he put me on to his business loan people. I got a good rate (Lombard North Central) & the finance does not effect my business facility either.

I suppose it's not a bad price from a Scooby dealer considering my local one has a P reg for sale for £15,995.

Hope you like it. I paid £13700 privately for a completely standard R-reg 5 door (97my) with 30000 on the clock last December. Prices have dropped since then so don't pay too much for this one.

£13,995 is NOT a steep price at all. I own a 97P and I intend to sell it for minimum £14k and thats without the PPP. I think you have a good price there.

One other thing you must remember Stef is that the 94 car is almost completely different to the 97 car, old face, old interior and without plenty other mods.

That price sounds good for a car that can only be 3 1/2 years old max.

Looking at the Auto Trader this week (Thames Valley and West London) 11-13K would get you a K/L WRX. So to get a 96P for 13.5K sounds good.

Imports are delightfully fast though and AC is a dream in the summer.

Either way, you love it.
