Just a query really.

Whilst driving (lets say 4th gear for example) if you put your foot down on the accelerator only say 20%, you still attain 'full boost' and still accelerate hard.

sometimes it feels that if you floor the car it can appear to be slower than when you only give it say 50% throttle.

why is this ?

Is full throttle quicker/better than 50% ?

I remember at the last RR day at PE, I heard Merv talking about this but couldn't hear exactly what he was referring to.

If partial throttle is better, why the need for putting your foot to the floor, why not insert some sort of bump stop ?

Although the car may 'feel' like it is accelrating quicker on part throttle it is not, watch your speedo...
IIRC it is because you get more acceleration per throttle position on part throttle.
For example...
At 20% Throttle (on boost) you will get 20% acceleration, but at 100% throttle you will not get 100% acceleration compared to 20%.

Hold your car at 50% throttle whilst accelerating, then push the throttle to 100%, if your car doesnt accelerate harder then you have a problem...

We find also quite often from the factory wide open throttle actually makes the butterfly move too far causing in to close slightly in the other direction, so we adjust this acording
