....... someone who used to have an old man in the Army and who grew up being moved from school to school every 2-3 years due to postings?
My old man was predominatley posted around Germany but I went to some wicked schools.

My old man came out of the Army in 1981.

I loved it. Lodas of travel, prezzies when he came back from "Excercise"

I've been on a re-union type site today (not friends united :D ) and was amazed at how much i'd forgotten about the way of life. Kids today, bunch of wusses ;)

I did the reverse, I dragged my brats around behind me for 7 years. Probably why my ex and I spilt, never there, always on ex or detach somewhere. Mostly UK, bit of BAOR and a fair bit of NI with GW1 Boz, etc. Did some training at Pad and was based at Bielefeld for a stint. Kids don't remember much about it as they were only 6 and 4 when we split.

Loved BAOR stints I was usually 6 weeks and out plus ex time. Bielefeld was 9 months detach though. Better NAAFI's than UK.

Assorted stints really ranging from 1969 - 1990 18 years in BAOR. Old man was in the R.Sigs Switching between, Herford, Minden,Osnabruck,Wildenrath,Bruggen,Heisburg,Dortm und and Fallingbostel.(You know i've missed some ;) )

Me days in Minden are me best going to PRS in Rinteln

My sister is out in Germany at the moment. Based near Gutersloh. I went out there last year to see her and it looks like a right cushy lifestyle. Some nice towns out there and teh Christmas markets are superb!

My old man was also in Sigs. Did Herford (Germany), Blandford (England), Episkopi (Cyprus) and SHAPE (Belgium) and some other places before that lot. Ahh, those were the days.....

Did a lot of stuff with Sigs, I was Op MI Field Specialist, IMINT and SIGINT. 1982 - 1995.
Knickname was Smudge.

The only other welsh guy I can remember serving with me dad was Eddie Grattidge or Eddie cabbage as they called him ;)

Not many Taffs in AIC stuck out like a sore, well Taff.
Majority of base time was at Templar in Ashford but did feckin loads of detach. Did a lot of time in East Wretham trying to teach sprogs on their first NI how not to get capped :rolleyes:.

I lived in Antwerp when my dad was posted there with the RAOC. Does anyone have any idea where the families might have lived as Im off to Antwerp early next year and thought I would have a look? Ta

Mr OS was. Born in Bombay. Singapore, Scotland (don't ask me where), Chester, Lewes and some other places I can't remember. That was back in the old black and white days though. I love listening to the stories when his aunts and uncles get together. :)
