has anyone ever had a new door skin put on or will they fill it i have a small dent that will have to go to a bodyshop as i have had a man who does the mobile dents come and see it and said he cant do it anyone know i dont really want it filled

I had someone reverse into my drivers door. The pressed the door skin across the reinforcement bar, so it needed replaced. The Dealer told me a brand new door would be a lot cheaper and easier than a door skin.

I personally wouldn't recommend a new door skin. You can get a new door for around £180+VAT from any Dealer. The door skin is cheaper, but it's by far a more time-consuming job + you always run the risk of rust forming where it's been welded back onto the door frame.

cheers m8 it's only a small dent but i can see it i think they would suggest filler as it's not too deep as anyone had any dents done by a bodyshop how did they do it

You can get your doorskin removed on the NHS on medical grounds without loss of sensitivity, it's also more hygenic.

As above, it's much simpler to put a new door on, even with a good panel beater the fit isn't that good.

Why are you so against filler? If it's done properly you won't even notice it's there, it has no side effects and is sh*t loads cheaper than a door! I wouldn't worry about it...there's more filler in my car than silicone in Jordan's chest!:D

It's only more hygenic if you don't wash behind it regularly.

That reminds me when I first joined the Marines. The first week out in the field we were given some lectures on personal hygiene.
One of the Corporals started explaining how to wash yerself, mentioning the gold old d!ck cheese, when he dropped his kecks and had half a tub of dairylea stuck on the end of his knob. It was the funniest thing I'd every seen :D:D:D

thanks i think i might go with the filler as you say if they do a good job if i have a new door someone will prob dink it again or as in this case i was the one that bang it with my knee at work as i was getting something out anyway thanks for all the help

I would recommend the filler, much cheaper and you should not be able to see the repair.
