Hi,
Are they quick / Quicker ??? than the bug eye? do they feel more like the classic ? Any views much appreciated. Thanks. |
They certainly look nicer and handle alot better!!
So i bought one ! It will arrive soon... arrgg |
Do they really handle 'a lot' better. I could understand old shape to new shape but is there that much between 7 & 8?
|
Yeah its much stiffer and they have changed some of the suspension!
So basically yeah it is... i dont have total knowledge of this.. but is has had lots of mods to the setup! |
Thanks guys,
What Im really looking to find out is re the Excelleration, boost, feel etc. Does it take off like classic scoob ? |
There are suspension modifications but not that you would notice ;)
The biggest change is the steering rack which is quicker (and smaller steering wheel) which gives you a feel that your quicker than the older model, but in theory i doubt you would tell the difference on the road as both are more cosmetically changed than mechanically. Tony:D PS, no its not any quicker either :p |
Our 03STIPPP doesn;t *feel* as quick as our STI4...but it's a much quieter, more refined..errm slightly sanitised..slightly less fun...but it *is* quick...almost certainly quicker A to B in fact.

Though I'm still running in my STI8, apart from the steering it feels no different to my ST7. The mods that were made, so I believe where to refine the older car, rather than make a step forward.

Sorry to correct you Tony, steering rack is identical on 7 and 8 with 2.6 turns lock to lock, it feels quicker because the 8 has a (slightly) smaller steering wheel, and yes before you ask i wish my 7 had the smaller wheel-such is life!

Had an STi 7 pick up my STi 8 with PPP soon.
Loved my STi 7, but test drove the 8 with PPP and it felt more Raw with a lot quicker turn in, obviously quicker as my STi 7 was standard, more torque apparant low down in the rev range. Feel i`ll get better resale as a lot of you don`t like the bug eye, but it never bothered me, love scoobys full stop. Roll on delivery date and of course the tedious 1000 mile run in period. |
