Unfortunately I have to sell my erst s2 due to bady but have thought about replacing it with a sapphire cosworth. Just one question for you who are in the know as i am unsure Do they have power steering? (Girlfriend can't drive with out it and it could swing the vote my way) Cheers |
yes
|
cheers james
now to try and convice the missus wot are they like for everyday use? |
I used the ones i've owned every day and they are fine as long as you look after them as any car.
Comfortable, nice easy steering for the misses;), quite pokey, ground clearence for exhaust is a bit low(you'll be used to this with the rs turbo though??) Wish I had one right now compared to the scoob woes:rolleyes: [Edited by jameswrx - 5/21/2003 8:34:55 PM] |
cheers mate
ne pics of the old ones |
It would be a lot more expensive to fix and maintain than your rst, but i pressume you already now that! :)
Dave. |
alot faster tho , plus no shatty front wd
|
I loved mine. Used it everyday and was such fun to drive in the RWD variety. You got a feeling of power when the turbo comes in unlike the scoobs smooth power delievery.
If someone would host some pics for me id get some pics up. |
I've got some photos, but old style non digital.
might get my g/f to scan them as my scanner only seems to like the womans touch |
What colour did you have james ??
I had a mercury grey one with 17 inch voodos. Had it re-built at swillington auto care near leeds. |
taking mine to Swillington auto for a service/tune - next week.
great cars - when they run right. get 4x4 tho' especially if you have a baby in it, or wifes going to drive it. RWD maybe more fun on a track - but no fun when you lose back end on a wet busy road - with the family in. |
Still wish i had kept mine, i had a 2wd sapphire, stage 3.
I got rid cos i didn't want the wife to be driving it. If it were a 4x4 i'd have kept it, so, bought a scoob ! But cossies are just ace ! love em ! |
Agree with everything already said, ****in' ace cars.
Had mine for 3 months now and still ain't stopped smiling. Definatley 2wd for me tho, 4x4 is such a waste of power. That said, I don't have wife/kids etc and car stay in the garage in the rain!! :) |
Dac you ever been out for a ride when steves driving ?? lol
|
j-p-h
only been out with him when steves been test driving my cars - hence I gather he takes it easy. still fast tho' - he went faster in my 3dr than I dared go. I'm hoping to get him to stage 3 my latest (saf 4x4) later this year - funds permitting. all mine have been stage 1 so I do miss the 2wd extra power, but only in the dry tho'. the 3dr are lethal in the wet. |
Dac
Ive only been out in my old car with him and that was enough for me truly does no how to drive. Also my m8 had his 4x4 up there and on the test run over that sweeping uphill bend he got it sideways at 100ish appartnley lol. He did no the lad well though and he said he could do it. |
j_p_h,
I've had a magenta 2wd and a moonstone 4wd. I didn't find the 4wd to be much of a drain on the power:confused: both modded to stage 1, 4wd was quicker and pulled off the clock (on a private runway;)) really easily |
I've had my 2WD for over 6 months now and love it. It replaced my FRST, I was sick of FWD boredam and wanted to get back into summin RWD. Power steering is not as light as a normal family car which is a good thing.
|
show us your modded sapphire's if you can
the missus is coming round to the idea so heres hoping that as soon as the erst s2 has gone the cossie will fill the empty space in the garage neone intrested in a cheap erst s2 please email me |
Sorry bout the quality, just taken a digital pic of the normal photograph, lol. Haven't developed the ones of my 4wd yet, only been 3 years+ since I sold it:rolleyes::D

|
cheers, email me the pics and i'll put them up mate.

I love them, i think they cost a bit to run though and mine seems to like drinking Optimax.
Mine looks more like a cossie/scooby/evo half breed :) http://www.b0ll0x.net/thecars/paul/carpics.htm Paul |
Nice car mate, looks well tidy. Took your plate out, don't know if you mind people seeing it?
