Got the cosworth now looking for some one in the bucks area to give it a service and a few add on's.

Thinking MA Developments.....

What do you lot reckon ??

john coffey 20 May 2003 01:08 PM

Power Engineering in Uxbridge without a doubt.

what would scooby do 20 May 2003 01:48 PM

Are BBR (brodie brittan) still doing stuff in Brackley - if so they are tops..

Johnny50 20 May 2003 02:18 PM

What about Harvey Gibbs at SCS ?
Gives great advice about rebuilds and tuning, Engine in my last Cossie was from him.

Or Mark Shead at MADevelopments.

Johnny

M8TT J 20 May 2003 02:18 PM

Was thinking about PE as they are only in uxbridge...about 20 mins away.

Also thought about SCC Performance in St Albans....any other suggestions.

Only heard good things about MA Developments

Johnny50 20 May 2003 02:20 PM

Yeah, aint heard any bad things about MAD, Mark Shead should sort you out.

Merc_Cosworth 20 May 2003 02:26 PM

As with all tuners - there are people who have great experiences, and people that have bad experiences. Its the unhappy punters that tend to shout loudest though!

Normally a case of suck it n see - have a chat with them first, face to face... If you're uneasy about any aspect of them or there operation - walk away and find someone else.

Case the place for: Type of cars in the workshop, state of the workshop, state of the mechanics/tuners, knowledge of subject.

Never go for second best - its always more expensive in the long run.

You could also try Steve Scott at A1 Rally Sport at Sandy, nr Bedford

POC 20 May 2003 03:50 PM

SCC Performance would get my vote :)

David_Wallis 20 May 2003 03:54 PM

Speak to Mark Shead.. at MADevelopments

Matt

You got it then :D How is it? There are so many tuners to chose from and they probably all do as good job as each other. From what I have heard MA Developments are the peeps though, Power engineering is good and just down the road too :D

Paul

ANDY330 21 May 2003 11:58 AM

MADevelopments! :D

I live 200 miles away from MAD and pass 8 other well known tuners on my way down there yet its the only place I will go!

Just picked up my MAD rebuild, most chuffed :D just got to run the thing in now :( ;)

Got a reply back from SCC Performance and there pricing seems very good indeed.

Awaiting to hear back from MAD and then will make my decision.

Will have some pictures of it tomorrow. Also just given it a full valet and it looks lovely.

I've used Harvey @ SCS, Mark Shead @ MAD and St Albans car clinic and they've all been tops for me. I've always come away knowing that none of the above have tried lifting my leg and baffling me with algebra, etc, etc ...... Never used PE as they seemed uninterested and expensive.

Pick from this list and you can't go far wrong. :)

Hi Guys,

Getting it serviced at a local garage which was recommended to me by my mate and his father who have both had cosworths for years. They use them

Then off to SCC in St Albans...they get my vote, not knocking the others but these guys seemed resonable and were recommended.

Paulo P 22 May 2003 09:41 AM

Just don't let 'em fit a flamer kit

M8TT J 22 May 2003 09:54 AM

LOL at Paul...

don't worry nothing like that on it.....got it booked in on the 28th at the local garage then fingers crossed next weekend at SCC.

Should be nice an rapid then..... Used to it already...can tell this car is going to be a money pit

Paulo P 22 May 2003 10:33 AM

:D Are you getting stage 1?

M8TT J 22 May 2003 10:46 AM

I have the green injectors already in it....so may go stage 2....but don't want an upgraded head gasket just yet.

I am going to speak to them and see what they reckon.

I want about 280-300 Bhp...as a mate of mine has a P1 ans I want to beat him in my 6k car versus his 19k car

Johnny50 22 May 2003 10:51 AM

Just go the whole hog and get stage 3....thats what i had...loved it !!

More than enough power there...

Mike Rainbird 22 May 2003 11:22 AM

Be careful of RichPON at SCC, he is as bent as a five bob watch... ;) Shame the picture uploader isn't working, as I have some well incriminating bondage photos nicked from his coffee table and scanned in embarrass him with! :D
LOL

For servicing etc you can't go wrong with SCC. Thorough and professional (just don't let Rich touch your car or it will catch rust;)).

However, for re-chips etc, I would have chosen MAD or SCS, as they use Ahmed Bayjoo chips.

Paulo P 22 May 2003 12:06 PM

Matt

Who do you know with the P1?

M8TT J 22 May 2003 12:15 PM

Jason Cole.....known as Jaycole on here..

Paulo P 22 May 2003 12:32 PM

That's the guy :D I saw him at Castle combe on saturday but didn't realise 'til after :o:rolleyes:

Little Tom 23 May 2003 05:41 PM

Quote "However, for re-chips etc, I would have chosen MAD or SCS, as they use Ahmed Bayjoo chips."

MAD must have used a good chip in mine 500+Bhp&490ft/lb on the Dyno. Bayjoo chips are available from MAD but Mark is now into Autronics ECU's.

What about Castle Performance in Newcastle - Under - Lyme. I've heard some very good things about their engine builds.

dazc2 24 May 2003 02:20 PM

Depends which green injectors you have!!

If they are 355s'(light greens) then they are sh!te and only slightly bigger than standard. If they are 803s'(dark greens) then your sorted. :)

You can't go wrong with SCC either. :)

COSSIENUTS 24 May 2003 04:03 PM

THE GUY I BOUGHT MY COSSIE FROM HAD ALL THE WORK DONE AT M.A DEVELOPMENTS AND HE SWEARS BY THEM!
