Hi all
I know some of you on here have chipped RS4s.
Could you point me in the direction of a few useful sites/forums.
Also being a big scooby fan. How would I find one to drive. I had a 2.4 a few years back which was quickish and very smooth and a 'nice' car. I am used to the punch and rumble of a modified early WRX which when safe to do so push it down empty backroads.
I assume that a RS4 requires the same driving tequnique. Slow in, fast out. Has a tendancy to understear on the limit etc.
Do they have weak points? Would I need a brake upgrade? Are they permant 4WD like a scoob. Or is it that weird 2WD/4WD stuff they have on 4motions?

Any info appreciated
Thanks
Steve

rs4.org (UK website) should help

Would a chipped S4 be a more cost effect route to go.

As an RS4 might break the bank!

Have many people done this?

Steve :)

Good cars... soft wheels so as not to damage the suspesion members means regular replacements from factory...

Good site... RS4 guys are mostly 'gents' their website is here...

http://www.rs246.com/

Thread from the GTR with some 'external' views on the car... tend to be owned by the well heeled and do need serious up-keep.

The 'stand-alone RS4 site closed a while back. the '246' is its successor.

I spoke to a 'gent':) who had one of these cars, loved it to bits, but did mention about his wheels being replaced due to them getting bent.

The upgrade to 450bhp from an S4 using the RS4 turbos is 4.5k from AMD.

One was on the Cannonball run last year with nitrous, Absolutely stunning car, we were running about 130 when a Ferrari went by & it just took off, unbelievable acceleration. If only I had the money

We have just bought our 2nd RS4 and its the dogs bolls, it has just come back from AMD and now has 440 BHP, cat back Miltek and short shifter. Most RS4's have now been given harder alloy's courtesy of Audi UK, the car does benefit from the GMBH suspension upgrade, around £1,000 (next on the shopping list) and as for the brakes from a personal point of view I havn't experienced any fade yet....If you buy a S4 and upgrade to RS4 engine spec it will just be a RS4 wannabe...especially when it comes to sell it on. Buy an RS4 you wont regret it. £40.000 is going to buy a low mileage mint RS4 from a dealer or 37 private.....Have also seen high mileage cars just under 30k.

Thats true Mog but you could have a car as fast and as capable for just over half the price of an RS4 ;) :D
