As above. If my PC is on for more than, say, about an hour the hard drive starts spinning for ages then the floppy tries to read even with no disk in!
Its been doing this for about the past month. Anyone know of a remedy?

Thanks

Nick

I had a similar "feature" on my tower at home.
The system would try and access the floppy drive.
After a rebuild for some other problem it went away.
Well that prob rules out the BIOS.
Do you have any A/V running ??
Make an up to date sweep of your drives, then un-install your
A/V, leave running for an evening , see what happens.
It could be power management related, could be bl**dy all sorts.
Cheers

Also check for microsoft office findfast running, it seaches your drives for office documents when your system is idle to supposedy help finding them quicker.
