I am considering purchasing the follow. I think about 2000km on the motor since rebuild.

The car can run on pump fuel and produces about 155KW at the wheels, on race gas this should get up to 200KW. 0 – 100KMPH should come up in 4sec flat.

The motor was built to be extremely powerful and still 100%
The car includes:

1998 Subaru Impreza Version 4 STi, 23 000 miles on the clock
STi Closed Deck Block
STi Forged Pistons with Ceramic Coating
New Rings and STi Full Gasket Set
Arrow F1 Forged Conrods
ARP Conrod Bolts
STi Crank, Dynamically Balanced Internals
STi 1.63MM Head Gaskets for High Boost Applications
HKS Front Mounted Intercooler
TurboSmart BOV
Blitz SUZ Induction Kit
Blue large Air Turbo Pipe
VF23 Turbo Charger
Fuel Rail Modification To No 3 Cylinder
Heads Fully Gas Flowed and Ported
ScoobySport Exhaust
New Clutch
Boost Gauge
Quick Shift Gear Lever
Braided Brake Hoses
Brake Booster Bracket

100% perfect body in white.

what do you call Race Gas? In the UK Race Gas is 118 Octane and costs 20 quid a gallon :( , I need this for my other car when running NOS on the strip :D

MurrayZA 14 May 2003 08:56 AM

South Africa and their cr@p fuel.

Normal Fuel 93 Octane ULP R3.88 (32p) a litre.
Race Fuel 102.6 Octane LP R4.50 (40p) a litre.

Andy555 14 May 2003 09:00 AM

Ah OK

Nice BTW, looks smart!!!!

I stayed in Santon J'Burg for a while, was working with Vodacom. A bit different than London UK :)

MurrayZA 14 May 2003 09:02 AM

I live about 5 km from there. 8-)

velohead66 14 May 2003 09:40 AM

Stayed in Hyde Park (Jo'burg not London) for a while, also close by IIRC.

BTW we get race gas in NZ too, but only 104RON.
Seen it for sell near Pukekohe racetrack, but also out in the sticks which I thought was unusual.

d'oh - spelling mistake

Hows the IT job market in NZ. I'm considering bailing SA. Too much cr@p here.

Andy555 14 May 2003 09:44 AM

Go to India mate (or china), thats where its all happening :(

MurrayZA 14 May 2003 09:51 AM

And live off dodgy vindaloo and roads that cant accommodate bicycles let alone scoobs. No thanks.

velohead66 16 May 2003 07:41 AM

IT field is semi-depressed.
Not much chance of a novell related job here, as it's all MS.

If your young, male, and kiwi - no problem.
2 out of three is not too bad.

My SA missus is none of the above, and finding a permanent job is not easy. She is contracting at the moment.
She has a CNE (Novell), and just done a MCSA (MS) to improve her chances, but still finding the job market tough.

Most people reckon Aussie is a better choice if you can get in !!
We are considering Aussie too, maybe Perth ??

D'oh Novel has two L's

What are the roads like in S.Africa, and are the police strict or soft with speeding....

BruceWarne 16 May 2003 12:35 PM

The roads are absolutely @#$@# awsome! There are areas where they are crap, (like the richer suburbs, where the new administration don't like spending money on such stuff - kinda their way to get the rich guys back for the sins of their fathers...) But on the whole, the roads are made for scoobies. Nice scenery. Nice mountain passes. Open stretches of highway (where you can max your car out without anyone, nevermind a cop in sight)

Police are starting to crack down a bit more on speeding - going to ridiculous lenghts. (btw, speed cameras are an SA invention, and I think Truvelo is still one of the largest manufacturers).

Great place for fast cars. (If you can avoid the taxi's)

I always have good memories of going up the R27 from Cape Town to Cederberg, at a high speed of knots. Road is a bit straight though, but good for a good cruising speed.

Have to agree that the roads are awesome (mostly), and most drivers have a fairly good attitude to people going faster.
Yes, they do pull over, and yes the faster driver does say thank you.

Here in Auckland, it's don't let anyone in front of you, cos you might get to work one second later !!
Oh, and to do that, you have to drive 2 inches (sorry, 4.8cm) from the guy in front !!

Cynical mode off now.

Leslie 17 May 2003 06:23 PM

Inches is fine Velo :D
