Anyone know of a good source for server racking or have any for sale?

Cheers

Do you want £££££ official racking or 3rd party stuff which is just as good for a fraction of the price?

A Compaq / HP 42u rack bare with no options, doors or sides is the thick end of £1000!

Chris,

Yep dont mind the 3rd party stuff, rather spend the £££ on the server boxes!

They come up on eBay quite regularly - go for around £100 depending on condition / side panels / doors etc.

I could do with a 19" Rack Keyboard/Mouse thingy if anyone's got any lying around unused.

The best server racks for sensible money IMHO are made by Cooper B-Line (Willsher & Quick)

The best racks I have come accross are DELL. The build quality is top and they look the puppies knackers in black :D Our 42U rack was supposed to be about £980 but we got it for just under £500 from our account manager.

See here for the DELL racks

Also try Dataracks - they'll put you intouch with somebody. Do rails for Compaq, HP, IBM, Sun etc and it's well priced.

Chris.
