hi i am just about to order an sti8 in black with the ppp upgrade and 18" crystal titanium wheels, does £27300 sound a good price to pay? i think thats a discount of around £1600
thanks for any replies |
talk to well lane turbo centre (near leeds). they'll import an EU car from a dutch dealer. It's exactly the same as a UK car (all off of the same boat from japan anyway), comes with a full 3 year warranty and will be loads cheaper (probably £3k+ cheaper).
I bought my WRX MY03 and can't speak highly enuff of them. |
If it includes the tyres, then yes it is. Exactly the same in Feb from my local dealer £28500
|
Not quite exactly the same.......
No alarm No underseal protection And no friendly Subaru support,Oh its an import,"sorry you only have one years warrenty." Re-sale value.......ah yes,two balloons and a goldfish! Me knows Ive been there,or should I say I am there :) |
yosa
totally agreed. integrale will find out when he goes to sell it 3 grand saved now? whay=t with the euro so low, resell or trade in no chance of a trade in so private sale uk car any day no hassle changing |

Re-sale value.......ah yes,two balloons and a goldfish! Me knows Ive been there,or should I say I am there No Alarm - I see that as a benefit as I can fit anyone I like without anyone knowing which one. No underseal - I think you are getting mixed up with some grey imports anyway about 100 quid to sort that out to if you want to add more. I think you may find this has changed recently to three years PAN european now IIRC and no difference. Re-sale after three years what the difference ??? Just my 2p worth but having said that the Euro is very strong against the pound so the saving may not be as big as they use to be. |
not sure if you all think im getting an import, but its a uk car got 4 dealers battling against each other, i guess i will get it down to 27k but that is with me trading in the standard wheels, they are giving me £500 for the set. so do you all think this is a good deal or can i get it for less? p.s i dont want an import, has to be from an offical subura dealer. many thanks.

that is a great deal do it

Contact Ian at Stan Palmers and tell him I sent you. It will be worth the call.

chrisp - your right
proboy and yoza - your both wrong Not only did mine have an aftermarket CAT 1 Thatcham approved alarm but also had a tracker fitted, all in the price from the Euro Dealer ! It's totally undersealed, only jap imorts arent. Got my letter through from International Motors/Subaru UK last week clearly stating that my car is now registered on there database and comes with a full 3 yr warranty, valid at any UK dealership. As for resale, well a dealer will try any means to pay you less for a car on trade in. As for a private sale I dont see it being a problem at all as it exactly the same as a UK car ! |
integrale
Quote "probably £3k+ cheaper" more like £1k, but if you saved that good luck with selling it private later on. |
No Pro Boy, nearer 2.5k savings. There are import companies around that will do you the above UK spec for roughly 25k including all the bits and pieces, CAT1, RAC Trackster, Delivery and inclusive of VAT, I know because I'm currently weighing up my options to! And before I get the Cyrus argument, they are sourced from Belgium! :D
|
You can get a UK car from a UK dealer at roughly that price....see my post above.

Nice to hear you can save that amount, when i got the quotes the euro was ****, top saving of 1200 and a 3-4 month wait.
hence the reason for uk one which i had within 2weeks with ppp. |
The waits still the same but the savings are still substantial. I really don't think the import thing is a problem especially since the warranty has changed ;) Good thing's come to those that wait! My biggest decision is colour and whether to go for an STi and a PPP'd WRX with the works. Decisions, decisions!
|
Just couldn't wait 2weeks was the factor. Is the uk lead time that long now?
|
Sorry, didn't make myself clear, me bad.
The Euro import times are still around 3-4 months, I think the UK times are a matter of weeks, sorry for the confusion! |
tim i spoke to ian, after you e-mailed me a few weeks ago, and he gave me a very good price but my 2 local dealers have matched him so im still ringing all 3 dealers and let them fight against each other.
