I have a question for those with more financial knowledge than myself (which is not difficult!). If you are PAYE and in the top income tax bracket (but not by an enormous amount) is there any benfit to employing an account ?
Thanks Simon |
generally speaking, if you are PAYE than there is no point in getting an accountant. The govt have already robbed you blind and there is nothing you can do about it. If you have your own company then the situation is a bit different.

I've filled in my own tax returns for the last couple of years, and found them to be relatively straightforward. I seem to be doing a good job - I got money back from the tax people both times :D

Thank Guys for your thoughts.

I have just decided to get rid of my accountant as have been PAYE for over a year. He just costs too much and I am absolutely petrified to give him a call regarding any query - the fee for the advice is generally more than any saving!!!
I wish they would be more open and clear about their fees like all other businesses though... D |
I used to use an accountant at each year end, but got sick of paying upwards of a £1000 for the pleasure. When I decided to do it all myself, the Inl Rev were really helpful and it took no time at all.
Do it yourself! The online Tax terurn is dead easy to use! |
Simon why dont you speak to one,... actualy there was someone on here who said they were one. Hang on a minute
