Wierd as a few weeeks ago it was 83.9p from my local shell garage, then it dropped to 79.9, and last night it was 77.9p a litre

Hope they havent got their prices wrong, as the next Shell Garage (1/2 mile away on the same road), is still 83.9, as is the Motorway Services (about 2 miles from my house)

Edcase 08 May 2003 11:52 AM

The US are lifting trade embargo's on Iraq now so (hopefully) we will see oil prices, and therefore petrol prices, dropping again.

Nick1 08 May 2003 11:54 AM

 77.9 I filled up Tuesday night at my Shell and it cos me 83.9 :(

Thats not fair http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...0435855019.jpg

*Sonic* 08 May 2003 11:56 AM

the best thing about this Shell Garage is that it is less than a mile away from my house :)

Johnny50 08 May 2003 11:59 AM

Hope it stays low then, i've got loads of Optimax stations round me, but not using it since i bought the new car.

Would be tempted to go onto it if they were going to kep the prices low.

Lastime i bought it, i paid 83.9 too.

SCOOBY TOWERS 08 May 2003 12:02 PM

Where abouts do you live ?

Dizzy 08 May 2003 12:24 PM

IIRC mine was 77-78...will check. My Shell is always on 210 fm for being the cheapest around though :D p.s. Shinfield, Reading.

S200BYY 08 May 2003 12:26 PM

I paid 78.9 for Optimax last couple of times I've filled up - hope it keeps going down!!

cheeseboy 08 May 2003 12:37 PM

This is where living close to Austria is very nice indeed. Every couple of weeks I drop over the border, fill up, and also fill up a few gallon drums :D:D:D Lovely at around 85 EURO Cents per litre ;)

simo 08 May 2003 12:40 PM

still 83.9 in milton keynes

robbing *@&%£'s, always dearer here, was in derby last week and 79.9 then, asked the guy at the mk garage and he shrugged shoulders, said different area and could'nt really care less.

dnb 08 May 2003 12:55 PM

At least you get Optimax. I've not seen any near me, and I'm not catching a ferry to get some!

speedking 08 May 2003 01:20 PM

GROUP BUY.
How much is postage on 50l of petrol?

bigsinky 08 May 2003 01:39 PM

@dnb

living in norn iron dont you just luv it :(

cheers

big sinky

Franx 08 May 2003 01:44 PM

Someone tell me, is Optimax worth the extra dosh?
I'm running a 1.8 GL impreza, '93, if that changes anyone's opinion, but I'm never sure about this. Extra fuel economy? What is the difference? - especially when I can get u/l for 73p in other places.
Anyone?
Ta! C.

yoza 08 May 2003 01:44 PM

Where is this Shell station Sonic?

Is it the one by the Ship pub in whiston/cronton

Cheers Yoza

Dizzy 08 May 2003 01:46 PM

whizkid 08 May 2003 02:13 PM

76.9 today

polarbearit 08 May 2003 02:21 PM

I just paid 79.9 in swindon!

Jiggerypokery 08 May 2003 02:24 PM

Last week I asked a guy in a Shell garage in Belfast if Optimax had reached Norn Iron yet. He replied "What's that then, a new type of credit card?"
I also tried to fill up near the M1 (Shell, Stockmans Lane) and they had their pumps on s-l-o-w so that the joyriders don't get away with much. I gave up after £20 as I figured I had better things to do with my life. Took nearly 10 minutes!

wos 69 08 May 2003 04:00 PM

80.9 in Prestwick!!

*Sonic* 09 May 2003 12:10 AM

Yoza

Yep thats the one, just off Jct 7 M62 :)

Funny I filled up there again today and it is still 77.9p, just been to London & back, and got 370 miles out of a full tank, damn economical that Shell Garage :)

But DO NOT USE HILTON PARK Services, I pulled up there to fill up, and SUL was 86.9p a Litre, so I put a tenner in, and it has just got me home, so back to the Shell Garage in the morning for another fill up :)

Ayde 09 May 2003 06:45 AM

Sonic - which Shell petrol station is that? The one at Rainhill Stoops or Ace of Hearts on Liverpool Road.

Cheers,

Ayde.

*Sonic* 09 May 2003 08:40 AM

Ayde its not the one down in Rainhill, its the one just before the M62 Junction, on the corner, near the Ship Inn, that reminds me, I must go and try the beer in there one night :)

yoza 09 May 2003 11:09 AM

Nice one off to fill up now,PS the Ship is a bit naff, the Manor round the first bend is better ;)

Steve777 09 May 2003 12:21 PM

78.9p A52 Derby.

Suresh 09 May 2003 03:23 PM

Damn. Thanks to a weak pound, Dutch petrol is now dearer than your stuff!!

So if you guys are paying 78p / litre you have cheaper petrol than Holland. I pay = 84p litre (€1.18) for 98RON super.

Bloody rip off Holland!! Mumble, mumble it's all Balkenende's fault etc. etc. etc. ;)

Nice weekend

Suresh

knuckledragger 10 May 2003 12:07 AM

The Shell at The Dome roundabout in Watford...77.9p
Saw a nice WRX filling up there the other night.
What a great place for meets!!

AndyMoody 05 September 2003 09:03 AM

79.9 in Northampton last night. Milton Keynes is always 3-4 pence a litre more than Northampton.

Morrison's supermarket (supplied by Texaco) had normal 95 RON unleaded for 72.9 as did Tesco's.

Andy.
