Actually, Mycroft, I consider my self to be a courteous driver and make every effort to let people out unless it means someone will go into the back of me.

That has nothing to do with the make of car I have.

PS - I really can't figure why most people on this board regularly refer to you a to$$er and ask you to go else where. What was that about the maglite?

Yes a good friend of mine owns a 2001 M3. Its a nice machine, theres no disputing that, but at £42 thousand for a secondhand one I pointed out to her that she could have bought a Ferrari F355, and found her proof. I was particularly unimpressed with the souless interior and general lack of looks for such a pricey motor.
Not enough wow factor for me.

As for my MR2, Its a MK2 (the best shape in my opinion) and its the 2.0 GTi-16 in superb condition. I'm only 23 and am still a student so shes more than quick / good looking enough for me to be driving around in at the moment. I have worked my butt off for this car as I have wanted one since I first saw one. I smile every time I get to drive it, its very good fun.

Hey I'm not knocking BM's, they are a good car, I just dont agree with their arrogant marketing policies that have brainwashed so many people I know. This makes their prices go too high for what they are.

Edited for spelling balls-ups, I need to get some sleep!

Triggers - well, try and read the above posts. It does seem to me you don't actually read people's responses, but just stir it up a little each time you post.

If you think the M3 is expensive for what it is then mate you should not be driving a scoob.

Is the Scoob not expensive next to a Clio cup?????

Does the baseball cap image of the Imprezza attract you to it???

Does the self confession from the Scoob driver of using 2 spaces mean, by your impressive logic, that all Scoob drivers are to$$ers?

I bet if you go on to the Clio board they think you all are a bunch of muppets for buying a Scoob!

Surely a poor image would require a majority of the population to have a negative view e.g. Many folks on here complain about Tony Blair but the majority of the population continue to vote for his Party.
I'd be willing to bet that most folks in the street couldn't tell an M3 from a M5 or a sport from a WRX.
I think this poor image thing being discussed is less universal than it appears to be a personal issue for many folks on here, the users of this BBS are hardly representative of the population. The general negativity to things non Subaru or non Toyota ;) appears to be a growing trend on here.

Have to agree with camk on that......you won't save much, if any cash in real terms on an Impreza over an M3 when it comes time to say goodbye.

I also agree with his preference for the M5, I just think M cars work better when in a larger shell, the 3 series is too small for my liking.

The thing we are all forgetting is that image should be secondary to a performance motor whether its Impreza, M3 or whatever. The only thing that counts is the way the drive not their perceived image.

The M3 is still however NOT a car with a good image!
