RB5_245 08 May 2003 02:16 AM

Tell you what mate, I want that cherry bomb breaking over 500 without an induction kit and with a chopstick rammed in the blades..... or maybe a 350 will do me.

rb5_245- a power run with graph at ava cost's £75.

It only cost me £50 when i Did my MR2 the othr Year! I want to find out what it's running, feels a lot quicker than it used to

Yes AVA do have a full 4x4 rolling road and i trust them implicitly with my car. When i took my 4x4 RS2000 to them it made bang on standard power with no mods and then showed a realistic increase once chipped, fitted with a decatted mongoose exhaust and with a K&N ind kit........they then showed me how much power i was losing with the ind kit by re-fitting the standard air box!
They do know their stuff and they build some awesome cars there too. My evo 5 will be heading down there in the next few weeks just for a power run and set-up if need be.

i second that. £75 is a bit on the steep side. used them alot in the past when it used to be £50 and as it is 2 miles from my house. didnt give it a second a thought about dropping in for a run on the rollers to see that everything was ok, dont think i will be doing that again.

RB5_245 09 May 2003 02:04 AM

Never 280 at the wheels Kenny.C and taking power losses is pretty much guess work so is that a ranodomly guessed exact 280?? and what did come out from the tires?? i'd like to see

RB5_245 09 May 2003 03:41 AM

My MR2 Kicked out 175 at the wheel's and they reckoned that was particularly good, for a car rated at 204BHP

TBH, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

It was only recentely the price was increased, took my P1 onto their rollers not long ago and it made approx 280 bhp, totally standard breathing wise except for the prodrive backbox..... although I thought £75 was a tad expensive.

RB5-245-- well it was an estimate actually but is was close enough for me, although I dont understand how in magazines the power losses from fly wheel to wheel is usually about 80-100 bhp but at AVA the difference is about 35-40 bhp. I think this was explained in another thread.

I will have to dig out the graph, then i will tell you the wheel hp.

when my P1 was on their rollers the front splitter was rather close to the ground ?? so if a car is lowered can the rolllers be raised to compensate ?? I know some rollers have height adjustment.

I had so much hassle with my civic vti as it was lowered although I've never taken the civic to AVA.

I had this problem at robinsons tunning in cambuslang though, they raised their rollers but still it was'nt enough !!
