Ive had my P1 bumper lifted three times and the gap between the headlamps and bumper keeps opening up. I spoke to my main dealer and they said its a common problem is this true and is there a way of keeping it up tight.

Not a prob with mine but I'm slightly different ;)

Full P1 front on my MY99 UK Wagon & although there is a bit of a gap on n/s that is down to garage trying to pull lip off with low ramp :rolleyes:


Mine is screwed to the front & bolted under the arches if that makes a difference...

i have had mine relifted twice,my local dealer said it is a common problem for p1s and it is due to the cheap plastic bolts used-he reckons high speed vibrations ie motorway driving cause resonance causing the bolts to shake loose

Well prehaps P1Doc has given the answer 'cos my lip (due to not being an official Subaru/Prodrive fit ;) ) has metal nut/bolt & spring washer holding it on.

Mine used to drop especially the front, was told by dealer that cos the bumpers are bigger-therefore heavier theres more strain on the mounts and Subaru used the same as the standard bumper models mountings.

Mine is an UK MY99 5dr, so with standard bumper mountings but it doesn't sag :)
