Okay men...I live in NY is the USA and recently added a turbo to my USDM 2001 2.5L RS and have a question that no one here seems to want to help me with. I am looking for a better (and louder) BOV/dump valve. It'll vent to atmosphere so I am not worried about the re-circ fitting. Any help/suggestions would help greatly. I know it's not a "real" WRX but it's the best I could attain. Also...it made 228hp and 246lb-ft of torque at the wheels running only 6psi. And it makes full boost by 2400 rpms. Here are some pics too:

Looks PDG to me. Have you fitted the Defi's yet? Did you have any trouble?

That gear looks expensive

If it's not too much a nosey question, how much the bit's cost over in the states?

Tats 03 May 2003 07:13 PM

Alcazar: Defi's went in no problem...definatley the easiest gauge install I've ever had.

mega_stream: AVO turbo kit was $4200 US shipped. Add another $1000 US or so for the gauges, pod, AVC-r, Cusco oil catch can, and a few other little things. Not too bad really for the quality and reliability of the set-up.

Seriously? Nobody on I-Club (like on your front bumper) or NASIOC could help you? That really surprises me. A lot of those guys tend to really fancy loud BOVs. I guess you could try ClubWRX.net in the US as well.

I guess I should have said "can't help" instead of won't help. The problem is that most of the turbo rs's use the same bov /intercooler set up as the new age WRX. Mine as you can see is conected to the IC via a piece of hose. I just would like to know what options I have as far as types that will fit and manufacturers. I figured since the UK has had rexs for a while some one might be able to help.

anyone?

HKS SSQV? You can get kits for these to make them sound different.

I believe the 96-98 turbo ones should fit as they are mounted much the same way as yours. Not sure if you can get them over in the states like this. Just check them out before you buy them to be sure.

But don't get the 99 onwards as these are flange mount.

Good luck

Thank you! That's what I wanted to know!

Very nicely done Tats, anyone would be proud of that job.

Sorry I can't help on the dump valve, mine is My94 and is noisy but is not fitted in the interco0ler like yours.

Good luck with it all

Les :D
