I would like a php script on my web-site to be able to edit a text file uploaded via ftp.

Default permission for ftp'd files are:-

rw-r--r-- User="bob" Group="www"

PHP runs as nobody so can read the file but not change it.
If I login as "bob" and manually change to rw-rw-r--, then the PHP works as I want ("nobody" member of "www" ? ).

Its hosted webspace so my options to change OS/FTP/Users/Groups settings are non-existant.

Can I do anyting with a PHP triggered shell script to change the permissions or something ????

Thanks

Deano

Edit: I dont want to have to manually change file details for all new files uploaded!
