think ign transponer unit lost code.original key/transponer units fitted(not been messed with, but car been stood a while)immobliser key light on dash display staying on.no fuel or spark..any way of bypasing..temporrary until we can get car to dealer for re programming..cannot find trace to pump/coil pack from ign????year 2000 uk turbo.......have tried borrowing a transponder and key from friends car still same fault??????think ecu and matching transponer must be used...any ideas anyone...

you would need to program the keys if you swapped the ecu or chip in the key i dont think there is any other way around it as this is why the system was designed to stop thieves who nick cars from starting them. get it to the nearest dealer

On a UK MY00, the ecu does not affect the immobiliser. All it does is logs any errors related to it. If you cannot start the car then it would most likely be the transponder or receiving unit.
