Anybody ever snapped them? (due to launching / power?)
My dad said that they will be taking a quarter of the force that the driveshafts would be due to final drive ratio's etc.. but it still scares me what abuse they take.. ??? David |
you're beginning to sound like adam!
Never heard them breaking, or a propshaft in general. Driveshafts yes, diffs yes, gears yes, prop shafts, no. Paul |
Funny you say that Paul, i was beginning to think that too. Especially with his comments yesterday, along the lines of he is worried that he will have forgotten how to drive:rolleyes:.

LMFAO..

along the lines of he is worried that he will have forgotten how to drive :D Paul |
:p
Probably  |
Guys, remember you get to drive your projects or at least work on them.
Not being so capable as you lot, left mine in the hands of a third party. I can hardly remember what its like to own my car let alone drive it, so to keep my feeble mind entertained I like to talk stuff. I resent any comparison with mr. wallis! :p check out 22b.com, I put argued that block bolts would be fine! btw. paul past performance is no indication of future events. how many road going imprezas have made well over 500lbft? I count one. Maybe his propshaft bolts might have gone. |
500ft lbs is not far shy of what serious rally cars get.
other way round, I mean the rally cars are about 450 IIRC [Edited by Pavlo - 4/28/2003 12:55:49 PM] |
I've never herd of anyone shearing the prop bolts.
I have seen pics of a propshaft twist itself to bits though! It was in Street Machine mag. The prop bolts were still holding despite there being 4 twists in the prop!! Jono |
Cool.. Just want to be prepared..
