Just received my Knocklink but as usual with all modifications or extras i buy i'm expected to know!!

Half the instructions tell me what ive bought. I know what ive bought or i wouldnt have bought it. The rest of the instructions seem to be in a very short paragraph and really dont tell me anything.

For example - Whats that bit of plastic or metal thingy and how do they fit together, in what sequence etc.

Surely some schematic wouldnt go a miss.

I really would like to fit this myself today because i want to learn more about my car.

Can anybody steer me in the right direction

P.s. i cant get my search to work on a regular basis now so any link to previous threads would be appreciated.

The "plastic metal thingy", i think your referring to is the
sensor(the one with the hole in it.)
I'm not sure exactly which order to do things in, the instructions
say to test it in situ before feeding wire through bulheads for final positioning.
The other bits in the sensor kit are a long grommet, this is fed over the black cable that splits into 2.
you will then need to attach those 2 wires to the 2 silver
connectors, then feed them into the other part (not the sensor itself)which houses those silver connectors you just fitted.
The rubber grommet then slides over part of the that rubber connector.
Fit the sensor with a bolt as in the pics.
The parts you just fitted , connect (as you can see) to the
connection on the sensor.
PS I'm not sure if the end connector will fit through a convenient
bulkhead bung, so be aware; you may have to feed it through the
bulkhead before assembly. Other peeps can put you right on this.

I have unfortunately admitted defeat already but i,m sure your explanation will be helpful for others. The cars gone in to a garage to get this fitted. Anyway, i'll be able to check things now when it is finished being fitted.

Give me clear instructions and i'm sure i could fit anything. The thing is that mods arrive for the proffesional to fit.

I'm sure somebody could make a bit of money producing schematics for fitting stuff.
