I am thinking of putting an aluminium gear frame like the one in a Sti in my WRX (MY03).
Does anyone know how this is done ?

I'm going to do exactly the same - so also interested in replies - also getting similar gear knob (once I've sussed out how old one comes off!!!)

Out of interest - look carefully at the picture - does the stitching on your gater go from front (ashtray side) to centre like the one in the picture?? Mine doesn't - mine goes rear (handbrake side) to centre.

can't tell you how my stiching goes cause i haven't got the car yet.
It will be delivered in about 4 weeks.
And looking at the picture again and on other ones i have the stiching goes from all four corners to the center.

Fitting the gear surround involves removing the centre consol around the hand brake and gear lever. A metal plate then fits over the back whith requires the drilling of holes into the console. The top plate then attaches with the fixings screwing through to the plate. Full instructions inclosed. Be careful with your drill..
