BuRR,
I noticed, whilst searching for a fog light switch problem I have, that you mention in this thread http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=61700 they are easy to remove. Could you please enlighten me. I know how to remove the lower part of the dash, to gain access to the back of the switch, but it seems stuck and I don't want to force it. Many Thanks in advance Chris |

scooby towers - this describes in detail how to remove lower part of dash to get to fog light switch and is spot on, used it to hardwire my s5 and recently to replace illumination bulb in rear fog switch:-
http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/sho...d&threadid=150 the clips around the steerin column are quite tight and do need a bit of force - dont be afraid. will need a flat bladed screwdriver to press up the lug at the bottom of the switch at the back. once pressed in, it slides forwards outta the dash, allowing you to remove the connector... [edited cos i didnt read the first post properly :)] [Edited by Riftzone - 4/23/2003 7:08:56 PM] |
btw, the bulbs are only available from a dealer and cost £3.50 each. takes a quarter of a turn to unlock them once the switch is out then they should just drop out. the top bulb is the orange warning illumination, the bottom is the side/headlight illumination...

Thanks for the replys Jen and Riftzone :)
Started a little earlier last night so that I had more light to play with. As Riftzone mentioned - I got stuck at the pressing the lug up part, I just couldn't see it last night . I replaced the bulb with the same type I bought to replace one in the hazard light switch, (I think it was part no BT43W) - 49 p from Maplins, and it seems fine. Thanks again for the advise Chris ;) |
