We're going to Knebworth in a couple of months' time, and are driving up there. What's the parking like? Just a bit worried about the car.

Do you mean for a concert or just to visit the beautiful country home and gardens? :D

Memories. I saw Led Zep there in about 1980.Took ages to get out then but in those days they had real crowds of 250,000 so maybe a little easier these days.

Saw Genesis there in 1978 as a young 16 year old. My father refused to give us a lift from Derby so a mate and I got the milk train (slow, overnight job) from Derby into London and back out again. The combination of a very late night and too much Scrumpy [vomit]BARF[/vomit] meant I slept through Genesis's piece and woke up to find that one side of my face had caught the full force of the sun. What a tw@t I looked on the way home.

Happy days..............

Went twice in the 70's. Genesis in 78, and in 75( i think) it was Rolling Stones, Lynnard Skinnard and 10cc. Fabulous, especially L.S performing "Free Bird".

Really cool perimeter track, used to alledgedly race arround it as a young "boy obeying the speed limmit and minding all the rules of the Queens high way etc" :D

Parents farm backs onto it, depends on the crowd Oasis type not good, hippies not too bad

KimA 23 April 2003 07:34 AM

Kim, I live in Stevenage and am being dragged to see Robbie williams by the misses.
Let me know if I can be of help, it's pretty muck walkable from loads of parking in Stevenage, it depends where you are driving after, geting back on the Motorway will be a knightmare.
Oh and don't be fooled, Knebworth, the village is not the location of the concert, it's knebworth house, which is straight off J7 of the A1M.
Anyway, let me know where you are driving after the concert (mail offline of you like) and I'll give directions to the best parking.
You can park at my house if you like, but it's at the other end of town and a good 45mins walk.

:D
