REG 'Edited to remove reg no'
Silver 320i
rear clear clusters
All i wanted to ask was how she got her M3 Alloys to fit, and the passenger replied "F OFF!"

No wonder BMW drivers have a bad name, god i miss being a scooby owner.:(

I thought the passenger told you to f**k off.......or don't you like BMW passengers either? WTF??

chrisp 18 April 2003 12:55 PM

Probably wanted people to think it was a real M3 and you upset them by noticing the 320i badge on the back :D.

loddrik2 19 April 2003 09:25 PM

I am a BMW driver(Alpina anyway) and I think you are right, anyone who drives a 320i must be a tit in the first place, if you must have a BM', 325 upwards thanks.

XT 20 April 2003 09:05 AM

it's not just in Millbrooke area, it's the same all over Europe.
GRRRRRR
Yesterday i almost crashed because of some stupid bloke that wouldn't go to a slower lane........

What an elitist knob.....

Some ppl cant afford the higher specced cars either due to initial purchase, running costs or insurance so why should they be excluded from a QUALITY RELIABLE car ??

And no, I dont drive a 316/318 but I understand real life

Many Humbug Returns 21 April 2003 08:50 AM

X5's must be the most offensive and irritating vehicle on the road today.

Do their owners just not understand how they look in those things?

basal_lobe 21 April 2003 09:03 AM

they understand how they look......in their own eyes they are kings of the road, everyone else sees them for what they are.....total and utter losers in a 5 series on stilts they never take off road. LOL

juan 21 April 2003 12:58 PM

bloody hell basel - we agree on something

though I have to add mycroft is the X5 of people

[Edited by juan - 4/21/2003 12:59:34 PM]

Sparky1066 21 April 2003 10:37 PM

Did you tell them to f-uck off back?

J4CKO 22 April 2003 10:16 PM

X5, spot on, knobmobile of the highest order, driven by persons with too much money and too little taste, they make me cringe.

Surrounded by them round here, 90% Silver and the rest are black, now theres imagination for you !

loddrik2 23 April 2003 08:37 AM

Drive one before you slag them off, have driven an X5 diesel sport, drives astonishing considering it's size. As for me being an "elitist knob", you wouldn't say that if you knew me. In the same way you wouldn't really buy a non-turbo Impreza, similar rule applies to straight 6 BM's. I would rather have a 3 year old Impreza Turbo than a new Sport.

mccltd 23 April 2003 12:13 PM

Probably find she did it because of all the abuse on here about BMW drivers.(She thought she would beat you to it)

Changed from an STI7 340bhp to an M3 and cannot believe the childish comments on here about BMW's.

dominicm 23 April 2003 01:08 PM

My father drives a Oxford Green X5..I'll pass on your good wishes!!!

This is a very immature topic!

Dom.

ajm 23 April 2003 02:16 PM

Well, as a BMW driver I'll add my 2p. I can honestly say that I don't do any of the stereotypical "BMW driver" things that have been listed above, but I'm not going to get all insulted and upset because at the end of the day this is a scooby site and they can say what they like.

I'll just keep driving considerately, and hopefully next time I see a surprised scooby driver as I let them out there will be one less person complaining here. :D

ALi-B 23 April 2003 02:37 PM

Bloke turned up at a local off-roading event in a X5. Everyone took the PI55 when he realised that it would get muddy (and stuck -with standard tires):D :D

ALi-B 23 April 2003 02:40 PM

BTW my dad just bought a 325SE touring ;)

So I dont want any scooby drivers effin and blinding at me when I borrow it.

Yet to try out the DSC thingy it has (Doughnut and Slide Control :D)

Mungo 23 April 2003 04:33 PM

I know we shouldn't tar all BM drivers with the same brush but FFS, why do 95% drive like nobs and give the breed the bad image?

BTW, whose green wagon was rear-ended on teh M25 at the M3 junction anti-clockwise in yesterday's rush-hour? Yes, by a BMW...

ajm 23 April 2003 04:55 PM

The X5 isn't really my cup of tea but....

Saying only dickheads drive them is a bit of a sweeping statement though isn't it basal_lobe?

Its a bit like saying someone is a dickhead based soley on their propensity to post outragous and provocative postings on a bulletin board. Sweeping statement. ;)

mccltd 23 April 2003 05:15 PM

Why do all Scooby drivers say that we are the bad drivers?????
I had an STI7 340bhp and loved it.

Now I have an M3 and every Scooby driver has to try and race me or stick up my AR?e.

May I ought to put a sticky in rear window saying
'I was an Ex Scoobier....but now grown up.'

Freak 23 April 2003 05:30 PM

I drive a bmw and you can all kiss my ass.

the scooby chip on the shoulder grows even larger by the day for some people it would seem......

ajm 23 April 2003 05:52 PM

Well.... now that we have had offensive posts from BMW owners and Scooby owners in this thread I guess that finally proves it....

It doesn't matter what car you drive, we are all argumentative, agressive and rude. :D

Rich and Mini 23 April 2003 07:21 PM

loddrik2, if you would only buy 6 cylinder BMWs, why wouldn't you buy a 320i? I'm confused...

Rich :D

loddrik2 23 April 2003 09:54 PM

Ok, I typed it wrong, the e36 320 couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, drove 2 520, that was even worse, the 'new' e46 320 has 170bhp so it's not all mouth and no action, so I will say I wouldn't bother with 4 cyls, OK? New 320d is a cracking car though, quicker than you would think.

Rich and Mini 23 April 2003 11:58 PM

I work for BMW mate, I know what they all go like...

Rich :)

chrispy200+ 24 April 2003 05:41 PM

thought the 320 was a straight 6 as well, just the 318's and below that weren't.

people that badge them up to be something they are not, typical BMW thing, the amount i have seen badged up as M3's, why bother pretending it's something it's not, (saying that i would love an M3 evo, just the servicing is stupidily priced)

Mind you that applies to all car makes though i think

There does seem to be a stereotypical BMW driver though and the image is aided by half the drivers

chrisp 24 April 2003 06:49 PM

May I ought to put a sticky in rear window saying
'I was an Ex Scoobier....but now grown up.'
LOL, how about one saying :

'I was an Ex Scoobier....but it was too quick for me :D'. ;)

MattOz 25 April 2003 04:50 PM

Let's face it. It doesn't matter what car this person was driving/being a passenger in, they were just rude. Fullstop.

Just because they happened to be in a Beemer, is the car the reason for the rudeness? I think not either. If they'd been in a 22B with different alloys, chances are you would've got the same response from that individual.

If someone asked me where my alloys came from I'd happily respond. Nay bother. :D It's just that the world is full of cnuts, and even if your enquiry is genuine, it's sometimes seen as a goad or challenge.

Unlucky

Matt

BTW, us BMW drivers are all w4nkers! It stipulates that you have to be in the handbook ;) :D

loddrik2 25 April 2003 08:33 PM

In my case, I was already a tw*t, maybe this subconciously affected my choice of car.

J4CKO 26 April 2003 12:08 PM

I have driven an X5 !

It was quite nice, better than the ML320 I had for a while but I dont really get the whole SUV thing, I drove a X5 3.0 and it wasnt as luxorious as I thought it would be, quite hard riding and the huuuuge tyres made a lot of noise. Quick-ish and handled well for a big lump. A real quality car and they seem good for the price.

But they do seem to be the choice of certain types, the lady who has the one I drove is very nice and not a t055er wheras a lot of them a basically Frontera drivers with more money !

I do like BMW's but I just couldnt buy one except perhaps the old M coupe.

Have to agree that the 2.0 ones are pants, prefer the 1.8 to be honest.
