I have a MY00 UK Turbo, and my problem is that I find it understeers a bit too much for my liking. I find that sometimes when I'm just about to turn into a corner, I'm wondering if it'll stick or slide and this saps my confidence. I thought that maybe the geometry was out and so got that checked out at a main dealer and it was spot on. So, what I'm wondering is, is there anything that can be done to the geometry that will sharpen up the front end at the point of turn in? Or is it a case of resorting to a suspension kit or wheel and tyre combo? Any advise/experiences would be great.

Do a search for powerstation and/or bumpsteer, they have a number of mods that will completely eliminate your understeer situation. They are very popular mods too

the list generally includes

Bumpseer mod
Anti rollbars with drop links
Eiback Springs
Laser alignment (with powerstation's settings)

i purchased all of the above and now my car handles amazingly

When your dealer says the geometry is "spot on", that means it's within manufacturer tolerances. In other words, that doesnt mean jack, given that the standard setup makes the cars understeer like mad indeed.

Try 1.5 degrees (or max) front camber
0.5 rear camber
zero toe all round

A bigger stiffer rear anti roll bar helps, too :)

Of course, a set of adjustable coilovers would be best. But you didnt state your budget :)

Totally agree with Claudius, saying its within maunfacture tolerance could mean its actually set up so bad it would be hard to make it worse if you tried! ....i think it says in my hand book for toe, +/- 3 degrees from 0
You really need to go to a specialist that can put it to your own prefered settings or go with what they suggest.
It transformed my car from being the worst i had owned for understeer in the rain, and not knowing which end would let go first in the dry, to being totally predicatable at and beyond the limit of grip in any conditions.

The bumpsteer removal plus Powerstation suspension settings will transform your car, especially if you fit the Whiteline anti roll bar links. My car is now absolutely neutral and is totally predictable, especially noticeable on tight corners, the tyres wear absolutely evenly, and a wet road feels more like a dry one! :D

My MY00 is booked in for Eibachs and geometry at Tyres Northampton at the weekend. What is their set up like?

I have been to Powerstation and had the bump steer mod and was very happy with the results. I am dreading being disappointed on Saturday because of a less impressive geo. set up.

Just fitting whiteline rear droplinks helped my 93wrx out a hell of a lot. Fitted them a few weeks ago and corners that I always understeered around can be taken with much more confidence. Can't wait to get the geometry sorted :)
