Has anyone experienced any problems when fitting an atmospheric dump valve????
For some reason my impreza wont idle properly!!!!!!!! Any ideas??????? |
which dump valve is it...???? Impreza's need a twin piston type dump valve that can be used with the air flow meter.. not normal diaphragm ones..

Has anyone tried a sigle piston one???? Why does it make i difference? Anything i can do????? |
only certain dump valves will work properly..ie baileys/forge/hks etc..also dump valve might be leaking..what sort have u got and where did u get it
|
Not too sure on the make, its a mates off a sunny gtir....
I know that sounds cheap but just want to get an idea of how it would sound!!! Sounds great when i make it dump to atmos, just wont idle |
I've got a Bailey dump valve & my car all of a sudden wouldn't idle properly. The smaller spring had snapped (quite a common problem) so I relaced it & it was fine :) I got a similar spring from an engineering shop & did it myself as Bailey wanted £35ish to service it

Thanks for the advice.......
So i take it the cheap route aint always the best..... So twin piston it is then. |
I'd recommend the Forge for the reliability & the price. Although a bit more pricey than the Bailey they're rated a lot higher. I have a Bailey but it was a steal so I couldn't say no :). It's a hell of a lot cheaper than the HKS but if money is no object then it's the b*@#ocks :D
