doing a bit of research on headphones and came across this site which claims to have a software upgrade for MusicMatch or RealAudio that turns headphones into virtual 5.1 speaker system

There's a couple of sample tracks

Nowt new :(
They had this on the Aureal & Aureal2 soundcards (don't exist now), although obviously it wasn't called "Dolby Headphones".
It's my guess that Dolby have brought the rights to the techology and are now marketing it as their own. The good thing is that it shouldn't just be limited to DVD's, and you can use it in games.
I remember playing Half-Life with my Aureal2 soundcard with this enabled, jumped out my skin a few times because of things attacking me from behind (and hearing them!).
