I'm running standard 17's on my P1 I dont know If they will fit under any smaller wheels please mail Stuart on the address above and he will be able to tell you. I'm sure he will be able to sort you something out if your running on 16's. Thanks Keith MY00 P1 |

I'm considering a set for my car, but I need them for the standard 16" wheels! :o
But also a kit that will allow me to use larger discs (if/when I change to 17" wheels!) |
Andy
Give Stuart a mail with details of your situation/setup mate and he'll try and sort something out i'm sure. Keith MY00 P1 |
Keith, I already had!! ;)
Hammy (Stuart??), YHM! :) |
hammy yhm shortly.. ;)
|
Looks good , But how much is the standard price?
|
Have mailed him now. So that's 3 for the group buy is it? ;)
|
I have already spoken to you (stuart) and am still very interested in this kit so count me in please!
|
Very interested also, have emailed for further info.
|
Could be interested as well.
I'm in the same boat as Andy, (almost). Have an import coming soon, with 16's and 2 pots. Would like a 4 pot configuration that will fit the wheels, but allow use of larger discs if/when i fit 17's. hammy yhm |
Andy, do you have any idea if the willwoods will fit under
the speedline 17's, the ones the scooby OE 4 pots dont fit over ? Cheers Glenn |
I'll mail all concerned with final spec' of 16/17" multi' kit soon, please bear with me. Have many options, just need to decide on the best kit.
Glenn, Keiths 330 kit will fit any style and offset of 17" wheel intended for an Impreza. What size disc with scooby OE 4 pots don't fit 17" speedlines? Does the pad anti-rattle clip foul the rim or does the caliper body foul the rim or spokes? Cheers, Stuart |
Stuart,
The problem is with a spec of wheel called speedline chrono's, from memory i think it was the scooby 4 pot calipers that foul the wheels. (andy knows all about them i think). I had an idea , if the willwoods were smaller profile they may fit. The prices of these second hand wheels tends to be lower, cos no-one can fit their 4 pots over them(without spacers). (i think Andy will shoot me down if i've got it wrong) Shame nice looking wheel. |
The profile of these Wilwoods is much lower than Subaru 4's. This caliper is designed to fit very tightly around 330's, giving maximum clearance at the rim and top of the spokes.
Yes they'll fit 17" Speedline Chrono's. I can guarantee there is clearance. If anyone could make an accurate cardboard template of the inside of the wheel (one half inc' hub), copy it on paper and post it to me I can tell you exactly how much clearance there is (don't want much do I). The most restrictive wheel i've come across are std scooby 16's, but I can still get 326mm AP's under them with machined Wilwoods! Cheers, Stuart |
I'm interested; how much is this likley to be? The brakes need replacing on the front after serious fade this afternoon, so i need to do something. can you let me know the normal price and what it'll be at group buy?
cheers |

Hi Guys
A few of you might have seen my brake kit I had fitted to my P1 by a guy called Stuart (who I was introduced to by AJF on here) in the members gallery recently. A couple of people asked for my comments once the pads had bedded in so here's a few of my thoughts: The kit feels so much more confident than the original setup (which gives me piece of mind!);) This is especially felt in the dry but they are great in the wet too. The car feels a lot more positive under braking and doesnt "nosedive" like the old setup and also the amount I need to press the brake pedal is a lot less too meaning I no longer stand on the brakes!:D when we took the P1 out for the first run on the new setup I said it felt like it had "brake assist" if that makes sense! Also I was really surprised at the small amounts of dust on the wheels when I cleaned it for the first time since the fitting the other day (must admit the antracite wheels do help things!) I have noticed a tiny amount of squeaking when cold but thats a small price to pay for piece of mind IMHO:D Stuart has asked me to see if anyone is interested in a group buy on one of these kits? Here is a pic and what the kit contains again for those who are lazy:D http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...1758510860.jpg This consists of the following: 2 Wilwood forged superlite 4pot calipers, 2 330mm x 25.4mm AP discs, 48vane, 4 groove and radius drilled faces (RoadSport spec') Ferodo DS2500 pads (Front and Rear) Goodridge Fr & Rr hoses, s/s fittings & line locators. All aluminium Bells, brackets and spacers hard anodised Dot 5.1 Brake fluid This is the best bit..... if we can get 5 of you guys to order the kit he can do it for a serious discount! I would recommend anyone to get this kit for their impreza but especially if you have serious horsepower you need to have the confidence you can stop! More pics of the brakes during fitting and on the car can be seen here: New Brakes on my P1! Thanks for reading and I hope this helps a few other folks on here. stuart can be contacted on: Swmotorsport@aol.com Please note I'm in no way connected to Stuarts company just a VERY pleased customer passing some comments and hopefully a great deal onto others:D Keith MY00 P1 [Edited by essexscooby - 4/11/2003 12:17:53 AM] |
Andy, will look at 305-310 (16") & 330's (17") using same calipers & bells, YHM
