What is the best anyone has been quoted for supply of a brand new unreg form a UK Dealer ?

Lloyds TSB Car Select quote £23,500, have any dealers bettered this ?

Has delivery been quoted as a long delay ?

The LloydsTSB deal isn't all it seems.

You're having to buy the car on not particularly cheap finance (max cash deposit 40%) and there are penalties if you exceed contracted mileages.

But does the cash price quoted mean you necessarily have to take their finance ?

I use Sovereign at present, who don't seem too bad (7.5% APR) so all I was going to do was order the car through lloyds but get the cheque for £23,512 for the car from Sovereign.

Is this not going to work ?

If not, what is the cheapest a main dealer is prepared to sell an STi* for ?

embeegebee 10 April 2003 10:58 PM

I phoned Lloys and they said I could sort my own finance

Hel 10 April 2003 11:05 PM

You dont have to take finance out with lloyds to buy the cars they are offering.
Try it with your local dealers if one wont offer you a discount- perhaps another will, or extras cheeper. Also subaru finance is 4% at moment which is lower than a bank loan/ lombard etc.

wang, I know your buying from the UK but count your lucky stars you didn't have to pay the equivalent of almost £33K like us here in hong kong!!! However I got the STi8 (Jap spec) for almost 4 grand less than this because I had my deposit down at the dealers in January to secure the price before the massive tax hike here :@

DavidLewis 13 April 2003 12:53 PM

4% finance....Mmmmmm

Hel 13 April 2003 04:15 PM

my wife wrote the post above(we share the same username)

Heres the info I got from Lloyds when I rang them
a) I can buy the car outright (ie non finance)
b) I can take Lloyds finance
c) I can take my own finance (the same as option a) as far as Lloyds are concerned)
d) delivery is approx 10 weeks
e) car is definately UK sourced (ie not a european import etc)
f) you can't specify the dealer it comes from

4% finance sounds excellent, APR with Sovereign is 7 odd % and I thought that was ok.

I bet when I ask dealer about it, will find out offer has ended !!

andys 14 April 2003 12:05 PM

Is that 4% flat rate or APR?

TVR Gary 14 April 2003 12:11 PM

I payed £24,500 for mine with Trust full exhaust system and Induction kit. (3 year warenttee included)

Got 6.6% APR from RBS (royal bank of Scotland) they garrenttee to beat any quote you have from other companies)
