does the engine have to come out of the car (2.0 sport non turbo)
to replace pistons/head gasket?
the reason i ask is my car has just been in for piston slap work and since picking car up clutch seems to judder ? wondered if they had damaged somthing putting it back together?
any advice would be very helpful......

Yes the engine would have been out and separated from the gearbox, and the clutch and flywheel would probably have been off too although they could do the piston without splitting the block.

Mines just had a new engine (Piston Slap) & clutch is juddering
