I'm a slaphead.........couldn't giveafvk to be honest.....have a grade 1 so no big deal anyway

some men are way too vain, should just take things as they come and to spend £000's is just a waste of cash

basal_lobe 09 April 2003 01:04 PM

Bald men look stupid unless they shave off all their hair. Then they look agressive. Best to wear a rug!ROFLMAO

CarpetCleaner 09 April 2003 01:07 PM

since having a grade one people in the street treat me differently, they think I'm well 'ard

why is that a crew cut makes people think you are hard?

Jye 09 April 2003 01:07 PM

So Diablo, when you gonna be modelling for Big Boy magazine then :D

CarpetCleaner 09 April 2003 01:09 PM

what's even more intreeging is that you take a bloke

shave his hair off and he is now

WELL ARD

stick an earing in his right ear and he becomes a

BATTY BOY

now where's the logic in that?

Diablo 09 April 2003 01:09 PM

LOL..

basal_lobe 09 April 2003 01:10 PM

short hair (down to the wood) has strong association with boot boys/skinheads or sportsmen (who shave so people cant use their hair as a grab).

I'm not bald but box so have my hair short for the reason above.

stevencotton 09 April 2003 01:24 PM

I started to lose it on the front a tiny bit a couple of years ago so I took it all off. Now have grade 0/1 and the general public do treat me differently I've noticed, to the point that if there's a spare seat next to me on my daily commute it'll be the last one free, nobody wants to sit next to me if they have a choice :)

David_Wallis 09 April 2003 02:14 PM

thats because you smell :p

Merc_Cosworth 09 April 2003 03:36 PM

At 26, with the 'big centre parting' rapidly appearing, I'll be going from current Grade 4 cut to Grade 1 when it all gets too receded.

Still, the Missus isn't bothered about - just as well really as I suffer from mild(ish) Alopecia - now that really does suck.... Random temporary small bald patches caused by stress. No known cure cos nobody really knows what causes it in the first place.

Still - I can understand why some blokes have a confidence crisis with baldness - when I first got alopecia, it knocked mine on the head for a while. But like most, I just got on with it, and now forget I even have it - although its better than it was....

boxst 09 April 2003 03:43 PM

Hello

It's just one of those things. I'm not particularly vain, but losing my hair bothers me.

So much so, that I am currently using Propecia to see if it will stop the thinning.

Steve.

Diablo 09 April 2003 03:50 PM

Boxst,

Thats fair enough, trying to keep what you have is one thing - its the transplant and wig thing that gets me!.

Rasher 09 April 2003 06:15 PM

didn't see the programme, but I take it there still isn't a cure??
ah well-i'll just have to keep on buffing:D

paulr 09 April 2003 06:34 PM

I saw the program too. What slightly shocked me was the depth of the cuts on the transplant.Pretty deep it looked.

Mines going a bit too,it doesnt really bother me much, but given a choice i'd rather it didnt.
As for the guy wearing a wig, personally i just thought it looked awful,it was a bad wig though.Cant imagine ever wearing one myself.

Its a difficult subject tbh, people say just accept it,and in the end you have to,but ask yourself would Brad Pitt be as successful if he was bald.....i dont think so.Or would the Stones have endured as they have?It does make a difference.

Boxst......does it seem to be working though,i'd be interseted to know.

J4CKO 09 April 2003 08:02 PM

Mine just keeps on growing, luxuriant it is

Belly keeps growing as well though, cant have everything and I suppose I could go to the gym more.

wakeboardar 09 April 2003 11:20 PM

im looking for a brain transplant

be a clever comber

andrewdelvard 10 April 2003 08:21 AM

Started to lose it about 5 years ago. More and more hairs on the pillow, in the bath etc etc and it did get me down a little.
Then one day I decided to take some positive action and shave the rest off. But instead of cutting it all off at once (so it wouldn't be too shocking), I had it cut shorter once every two weeks for a couple of months or so until the day arrived and I bought my own set of clippers and did the business. Never looked back, never thought about losing my hair since. I'm told I've got a good shape of head for it and suit it. To be honest I had crap hair anyway so no real loss....

boxst 10 April 2003 12:26 PM

PaulR:

I've only been taking it for about 2 months, so I don't know yet!

I bought one months supply to test to see if I would be allergic, and then I bought six months, so if my hair is still thinning at the end of the current tablets I will stop.

Steve.

ariel 10 April 2003 01:49 PM

Anything is better than hiding in the corner

boxst 10 April 2003 02:05 PM

Well, unless you have no hair and are self-concious of course....

paulr 10 April 2003 03:45 PM

Okay Steve. From what i've read the results have been mixed.

Diablo 04 September 2003 12:44 PM

Did anyone watch "Bald" or whatever it was called last night on TV?

Some bloke was getting a hair transplant which looked horrendous. Involved cutting a 3 inch by half inch section out the back of his scalp (to the bone, it appeared ) and then disecting the cut out strip into individual hairs.

I'll never go bald he said. Clearly having a patchwork head is less of a blow to his self confidence than a naturally occuring phenomenon for a huge number of men.

Why do that ???? Sad or what

Another bloke was getting his £000's hairpiece lovingly tended by a hairdresser.

Aparently he felt he couldn't find love without it.

Seems to me that he couldn't find love because he lacks confidence to such a degree he needs a small dead animal nesting on his head...

Personally I run with the number one cut school of hairloss..:D

Never mind wigs or transplants...

So, would anyone on here consider a transplant or wig, and if so, why?

Thoughts?

D

Should be many members here who need a transplant..Seems that scooby owners are short of hair.
