confused....
alarm fob fails to open doors but closes all okay...key opens and closes everything...should i be looking at the motor from the alarm or is it the time lock delay box thingy over in the passenger side? thanks. |
DOES THE SWITCH FOR DOORS ON DRIVERS DOOR OPEN AND CLOSE ALL LOCKS OK??
IF IT DOES,THEN YOUR PROBLEM IS PROBABLY THE EXTRA MOTOR FITTED IN THE DRIVERS DOOR AS PART OF ALARM KIT OR A LOOSE CONNECTION TO IT... IF NOT THEN PROBLEM IN LOCKING CIRCUIT WHICH USUALLY LIES IN A WORN OUT OR DAMP CDL BOX IN PASSENGER FOOTWELL. |
thanks...
just checked the interior door switch opens and closes all doors so it must be the motor attached to the alarm? Excatly what am I looking for and where? ta |
ITS A MOTOR AT THE BOTTOM OF DOOR INSIDE THE PANEL.
YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE DOOR CARD OFF,DISCONNECT THE ELECTRIC WINDOW PLUG SWITCH AND YOU WILL SEE THE MOTOR AT BOTTOM BENEATH THE DOOR LOCK.IT HAS A HOOK ON END LIKE A BIT OF COAT HANGER AND ITS USUALLY HELD IN PLACE BY A SMALL SCREW/BOLT FITTED BY THE ALARM FITTER. ITS A BIT FIDDLY TO GET OUT AND EVEN WORSE TO GET A NEW ONE BACK IN.MY ELECTRICS GUY WAS ASWEARING AND CURSING..... |
thanks mate..will get the screwdriver out tonight.
