Ive a 98 Terzo with no restrictions at all now not even a back box (just cherry bombs) so i can slightly notice a lack of pressure (expected) so i would like to have the boost kicking in earlier and staying in longer at higher speeds:0
Who knows the best person to speak to for getting these results. If i put a larger turbo on it what else will i have to change. Ideas appreciated SCOBY [Edited by SCOBY - 4/2/2003 10:00:30 PM] |

A bigger turbo will take longer to come on boost, I reckon you've also probabbly done the worst thing by taking all the restrictions out of the system, it needs some or it'll feel flat!

Generally the bigger the turbo the later boost comes on but the longer it will last. Perhaps some N20 to help with pull off's? :)

The safe way of doing this is the get a new ECU installed and mapped correctly for your car.
Try BR Developments who can supply and map a variety of ECU. The problem with the MY97/98 cars is that there is less choice! Personally I would go for a Link as I had one before in a MY99 UK car, but a friend had one in his UK MY97 and it made very, very impressive power!!! (albeit due to the huge list of modifications added to the car!!!) :) Just adding a Dawes device will left the boost levels, but it does nothing about your fuelling and your ignition timing!!! The good thing about the full ECU replacement is that all these things are mapped correctly for *your* car, and not using a generic map like the PPP ECU! I hope this makes sense! Andy |
Its all making sense cheers, the other question is does anyone know what it will cost to get the ECU & mapping done.
Thanks all Toby |
BRD price list for Link ECU
At the bottom are costs for the full package! Worth giving them a call or dropping them a mail, with what you have and what you want! |
Thanks for that Andy, what is the 3 port solenoid for and do i need to go for it??
Cheers Toby |
It controls the boost better (from my limited knowledge on the more detailed workings!!) but I think the change over period was at MY98/99 from 3 ports to 2 ports.
You might be lucky and have a 3 port solenoid already! :) |
Thanks:)
