After extensive research into this-
the best i have found is:
Ultra strong creative clay- By Wella (comes in a small blue tub)

Doesnt go rock solid liks some nasty gels- but holds it and wont droop..and it definately lasts

hasnt been out too long but it does the job nicely.
i know they sell it is tescos.

I'll second fudge. Hair putty for reasonably strong, Hair shaper for strong. Fabulous stuff, only really works on short(ish) hair and is expensive for what you get.

I won't use anything else though (cue 1,000 watt bulb lit behind my shiny perfectly sculpted barnet:D)

Mate what you want is stuff called Bondage. Cant remember the manufacturer, but you can get it from Marc Antoni in Bracknell. Marc Antoni do the full range of waxes and clays by the same manufacturer.

Its like a gel, but a bit more fluid.

On dry hair you have about 5 seconds to style and on wet about 10 seconds and then it sets rock (and i mean rock) hard.

Its about 17 quid but is ace.

Cheers

Vidal.

I am being serious, this is not my April Fools wind up thread.

super_si 01 April 2003 04:01 PM

This might sound bad...... i can do my hair on one day, it'll be fine all day. Then got to bed, and its still perfect the next day:D

Doesnt turn white like some gels do.

L'oreal O'gel (or whatever it's called) is great. Spikes all day and it doesn't turn to horrid white flakes like the rest :D

Only one that really works is Fcuk Shaping Hair Clay :)

brett555 01 April 2003 04:23 PM

VO5 do a good one , its called

Texturising Gum.

Only need to use a small bit , hair stays in the style you want for ages , + you can fiddle around with it later and it will still stay. Very versatile . Doesnt leave loads of crap on your hair either. Looks natural , unlike if you put loads of gel on your hair goes hard etc..

My son insists on wearing this stuff and it's messing up my rear headrest in the Scooby.

Keep telling him that he's got to put a bag on his head when he get in the car, for some reason he doesn't agree :D

Best stuff I have used is called LA Looks XTREME hold - first used it in the US when I ran out and chanced upon it in [whispers]poundlandp[/whispers] :o

There are 5 grades of strength and the clear 'mega hold' is fan-friggin-tastic!!

Mossman 01 April 2003 06:58 PM

LOL! Superb thread!

I have used just about everything on the Mossman barnet with some good, and NOT so good results!!

Current faves - Fudge Hair Shaper - excellent stuff
Tigi (from Toni & Guy) Bed Head

Would also agree that Paul Mitchell stuff is usually pretty good.

Jees what a mincer!! ;)
