My never ending search for decent interior bits goes on.

Have picked up that Graham goode do a decent carbon kit which looks good quality for £150. Rumour has it that they do the same thing in Aluminium.

Anyone got one? Pics if possible please.

Cheers

R we talking about the surrond bits of the dasboard, vents etc here or the bit that is on the very outside of the dials behind the persects stuff?
Either way £150 buys a lot of nice paint & time if yer guna have 2 take the bits out either way i'd b tempted to just prepare & paint it myself in whatever colour floated my boat most :D
Si (still with relatively dull plastic bits but guna wait till next car;) till i get the paint out :p)

scooby_si 27 March 2003 01:10 PM

+ if yer talkin stick on effects they r allegedly not exactly abuse friendly ;)

SeepyScoob 27 March 2003 01:15 PM

Si,

These are replacement dash bits not stick on or painted.

I keep thinking about spraying but I'm not a dab hand and after time the paints gonna get scratched off surely?

Agreed £150 notes is a good wedge of money but if it does look like pukka brushed ally I'm gonna be tempted.

Paul_M 27 March 2003 06:26 PM

i'd be interested to see a pic also

scooby_si 27 March 2003 06:44 PM

still unsure which bits of dash u refer to u dont mean like this how to on ravenslblade? do u or r we talking about all the surrounds like on trousers old car: http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...4242418178.jpg

Nick200 27 March 2003 07:01 PM

Graham goode no longer do the alu dash kits m8, sorry..

SeepyScoob 28 March 2003 11:54 AM

Oh 'ollocks, looks like it's either carbon look or spray it yerself then. There must be somebody about who makes these, perhaps I've found a gap in the market or perhaps there is no market?!

Si it's the trouser type thing I'm after but for post MY97.

doaney 31 March 2003 01:19 PM

SeepyScoob - how's the search going? I bought one of those stick on type surrounds and they absolutely cr*p! Want the same as you some brushed alloy type but replacments not stick-on's. Painting may be an idea as I think folk paint them then cover them with some other kind of clear lacquer - don't know what though?

Let me know if you find a place that does them :)

Paul_M 31 March 2003 02:01 PM

Painting will give you the silver look but not brushed ally unless you've got quite a skill with the paintbrush and several weeks to spare ;)

Twohot 31 March 2003 02:07 PM

Im pretty tempted by the carbon fibre effect for mine. Just wondered if anyone has got a contact no., website etc for grahame goode or whatever he's called!!!
Cheers
Ben

TwoHot the site is at

http://www.grahamgoode.com

Let me know how you get on

SeepyScoob 01 April 2003 12:39 PM

Doaney,

I've been on the case for ages and have had no luck :(
I bought one of the stick on ones, took one look and sent it straight back, I am loathed to spray it because I won't get the right effect and I'm rubbish with a spray can.

Ho Hum the search goes on.... and on....

scooby_si 01 April 2003 01:43 PM

Have u considered getting surrounds from breakers & painting then if u dont like finish u have only lost the expenditure on spares which u kud always sell on ;)
Si

Twohot 02 April 2003 08:26 AM

Am I right in saying the carbon fibre surround is £150?
As I can't seem to find it on the Graham Goode site and I don't wanna phone them cos I'll know I'd want to buy it there and then!!!!!!! :D:D:D

SeepyScoob - Scooby_si has a good point - that I may investigate further. I'd like to have my air-vents painted the cool grey of the car - should look smart. Fairly good at DIY but not sure about spraying.

TwoHot - $185+VAT+delivery for the 12 part real carbon fibre replacment parts from Graham Goode by the way

Rasher 02 April 2003 12:43 PM

just ordered that kit from Graham Goode today:D

BAH 02 April 2003 01:27 PM

Ive been looking into this a bit for my MY98, there a various kits about.....

Dash dynamics do stick on kits for about £80 but they are not very good quality and can peel off..

Nitosport do complete exchange panels which look great but are more expensive they send you new carbon look dash parts and you send your old ones back to them. see http://www.nitosport.co.uk/

Graham good also do some which are made from genuine carbon fibre weave or aliminuam and sticks on existing dash panels.

Regards,

BAH

SeepyScoob 03 April 2003 11:46 AM

I thought the Graham Goode stuff was replacement panels too???!

If it is stick on stuff is it genuine Alu or just pretend?

Also thought they didn't do them anymore see threads up above.

Somebody tell me if they've got one of these pics if poss.

Cheeese then
CP

doaney 03 April 2003 12:51 PM

Grahame still do it mate - the price I quoted further up was for a MY99 dash and it from a fresh email off them - real carbon fibre and I don't think they do another type.
They only sell it as a compete kit as well so if you wanted just a few pieces that's not possible.
I get the feeling ther're direct replacements.

BAH 03 April 2003 07:43 PM

when i spoke to them yesterday, the guy said they were genuine carbon weave or alley plate 3M backed to stick over origonal panels, but they are allready molded to the correct shape so they fit right on without bending them.

Rasher 03 April 2003 10:05 PM

mine should be coming on Saturday so I will let you know

Nige:D

scooby_si 04 April 2003 06:02 AM

clicky ;)
Si

doaney 04 April 2003 12:08 PM

Rasher which did you go for - Carbon fibre ? Yes let us know the quality and a pic would be nice !!

BAH 04 April 2003 12:28 PM

Ive just orderd a carbon set from nitosport cost me a bit but its a 20 piece kit of compleate replacent panels....

Ill post before and after pics once its installed.

Rasher 05 April 2003 07:26 AM

Don't you have to take your old panels out first and send them to Nitosport b4 they send their kit out, or do you do that after you have fitted your kit( which seems more logical).
Let us know how difficult a job it was please:D

Rasher 05 April 2003 10:16 AM

How much was that little lot mate??:D

BAH 05 April 2003 06:30 PM

Well if you work the prices out of their website it comes to £679+shipping but as i was buying alot of stuff jane from Nitosport did it for £525inc shipping.....

I know its not cheep but these are complete panels and are very well finished.

doaney 07 April 2003 09:47 AM

BAH - can I assume NitroSport sell the panels individually ? Guess this is real carbon fibre as well ??? so they probably don't do a brushed ally one?
I purchased one of those Dash Dynamics kits and it ain't what I'm looking for - to tacky and looks far to fake!
